At the beginning of the performance, a warm China red and the slogan "Welcome to China" appeared on the big screen. Red fireworks fly into the night sky, and red beams shoot across the river. Huangpu River is like a huge red carpet, welcoming guests from all over the world.

Hosting the World Expo is a long-cherished dream of China people. Liang Qichao and others once proposed to hold the World Expo in Shanghai, longing for their motherland to "sleep like a lion, and a sick country will fall into depression".

With the changes of the times, the relationship between China and the World Expo is getting closer and closer. Open China has ushered in the World Expo, which embodies the splendid civilization of mankind. On the evening of 30th, every light and fireworks released the China people's Expo dream.

Blue and green have gradually become the main colors of lighting, and the bright, cheerful and enthusiastic rhythm makes people feel the harmony and beauty of urban life.

The LED light-emitting ball floating from Lupu Bridge is changing the colors of red, yellow and orange, and it flows down the river continuously. More than 200 flag ships, under the traction of three speedboats, met with LED light-emitting balls descending downstream on the river. The speedboat dragged the fireworks down, and a hundred flag boats passed through the colored balls. This is a unique "water inlet".

The idea of "Romantic Water" originated from China's classic love story "Butterfly Lovers". A group of permanent fountains by the Huangpu River reappeared this touching story. With the change of music, the dance of water becomes the screen of water, and large projectors project colorful flowers and thousands of butterflies, which embodies the harmony between man and nature.

Golden fireworks were first lit from Lupu Bridge. Colorful fireworks are set off on barges on both sides of the strait and on the river, chasing each other and competing for beauty.

Silver and purple fireworks bloomed first, and then all kinds of colorful and dazzling fireworks bloomed one after another. "Smiling face" and other modeling fireworks depict the open China. Golden fireworks are set off from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and greet each other over the Pujiang River, forming a special shape of "hand in hand".

With the music of Ode to Joy playing, fireworks are blooming, and all searchlights, lasers and fountains are filled with colorful light and fire, which makes the sky bright for a while and illuminates the night sky for a while.

Scientific development and sustainable development are the ideas pursued by Shanghai World Expo. Wenguo Liu, assistant director of the Expo Bureau and deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Broadcasting, said that the fireworks used at the opening ceremony were "low-carbon", with no smoke, light sound and very bright colors.
