Xiang-Yu Railway was built from Chongqing in western Sichuan. Originally, the central plan was to mobilize the railway soldiers who built the Chengdu-Kunming line to build the Xiangyang-Chongqing line, but the Chengdu-Kunming line was not built at that time and the participating troops could not be withdrawn. In the second half of the year, the Central Military Commission transferred the Railway Corps 13 Division returned from Vietnam to Hubei for construction. At the end of that year, the central government decided to build Xiangyang-Chongqing Railway, named Xiang-Chongqing Railway, with external code 2 107 project. Xiangyang-Chongqing Railway consists of Xiangyang-Daxian section of Xiangcheng Railway and Chongqing-Dalian Railway.

1970, the middle section of Xiang-Yu Railway started. In the first quarter, the Central Military Commission mobilized the Railway Corps 10 Division, which was merged from chengdu-kunming railway, to enter Xunyang in southern Shaanxi, and transferred the Railway Corps 1 1 Division stationed in Fujian to Ankang in southern Shaanxi. In the second quarter, the Second Division of the Railway Corps returned from Vietnam moved to Ziyang, southern Shaanxi. So far, all eight railway branches in the construction site of Xiangpu Railway have been mobilized and deployed.
