Is the boundary pillar blocked by barbed wire?

Most national boundary pillars are not blocked by barbed wire. If there is barbed wire, tens of meters will be built at the boundary pillar (it varies from place to place, some are only a dozen meters, and some are hundreds or even thousands of meters wide). The line between the boundary markers is the real national boundary, and the area between the barbed wire between the two countries belongs to the "buffer zone".

The boundary pillar is a stone tablet, which marks the border between one country and another, but it is not an international practice to build a barbed wire fence. Take China as an example, it has a national border of 54,000 kilometers, including a coastline of 32,000 kilometers and a land border of more than 22,000 kilometers. It is impossible to build barbed wire after boundary markers. Many national borders are barren and there is no need to build barbed wire.

Some of China's borders with Afghanistan, Mongolia and Russia have barbed wire in China, but not on the other side. On the border between China and Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan has some barbed wire, but China doesn't.
