The Xi'an Light Rail, also known as the Xi'an Qujiang Tourism Light Rail, also known as the "Datang Shinkansen", started construction on April 7, 2011 and has been basically completed. The light rail all adopts an elevated mode and a single-track structure to organically connect various functional areas and scenic spots. While integrating high-tech tourism elements, it solves the problem of tourism transportation connection in large scenic spots. The Qujiang Sightseeing Light Rail is 9.3 kilometers long and has 11 stations, covering most of the scenic spots in Qujiang Scenic Area. This light rail only solves the tourism problem in the scenic area and has nothing to do with Xi'an's urban transportation. Tourists riding on it can see a three-dimensional Qujiang Scenic Area from the air.

According to reports, the Qujiang Sightseeing Light Rail is a monorail train with a running speed of generally 10-15 kilometers/hour. The carrying capacity is generally set at about 40 people per train. Three trains are set up in advance and are fully sealed. Bullet trains, each train consists of three carriages, and the specific intervals need to be adjusted according to the people waiting at each station.

Light rail stations are all antique-style buildings with three floors. The first and second floors are mostly commercial places for dining or leisure, and the platform is on the third floor.
