What does the target language mean?

The target language (TL, abbreviated) is a translation term, also called the target language, which is different from the source language (SL, abbreviated). In translation, if language A is translated into language B, language A is called the source language and language B is the target language, and vice versa. For example, when translating from Chinese to English, English is the target language and Chinese is the source language.
