A few years ago, there was a blockbuster movie "Juno" in the United States, which told the story of a teenage pregnancy.

Juno is a smart and independent high school girl. Out of curiosity, she had a relationship with a classmate, but unfortunately she became pregnant again. Initially, she wanted to have an abortion, but someone protested outside the clinic that abortion is a mutilation of life. So she decided to give birth to the child and, with the help of her parents, gave it to a caring family for adoption.

Many parents believe that this movie is deviant: How could it not punish this girl and instead make it into a comedy? It is not difficult to find that today’s parents or teachers still hold conservative views on children’s intimate relationships. , warning children in a high-pressure and resolute manner: "You are too young, you are not allowed to have a boy/girlfriend." But the reality that must be faced is: in Taiwan, China, more than 10 middle school students have sexual experience, and the teenage pregnancy rate is as high as 4. Using a dry statement like "you are too young" seems unconvincing.

I think it would be better to use movies like "Juno" to allow parents and children to discuss "sex" from a realistic standpoint. Only when sex education is not a moral lesson can children listen to it and truly agree with it.

For example, I asked: "Why are sixteen or seventeen-year-olds not suitable for getting married and pregnant today?" The girls did not answer. I added: "Why did Juno decide to find competent adoptive parents when she gave birth to a child?" Now they said in unison: "She is still a student and cannot be independent on her own, how can she take care of the child?"

It is true that children are developing earlier and earlier nowadays, but as the times progress, people must learn more knowledge and master more technologies and abilities in order to be independent and make a living in society. If you can't support yourself, how can you build a family and take care of the next generation? When parents conduct sex education, they should give more guidance and let their children think about what "appropriate behavior" is, and they cannot blindly control them with high pressure.
