How should nurses understand humanistic care and fraternity?

Humanistic care and quality nursing

2 1 century today, the whole China society is in a period of rapid development and rapid transformation. On the one hand, with the progress of society, the change of medical model and the enhancement of personal health care awareness, people's expectations for the quality of medical care services are getting higher and higher; On the other hand, in the increasingly fierce competition in the medical market, service as a means of competition has been paid more and more attention. These conditions constantly urge us to change our nursing concept and explore new nursing methods to meet the requirements of the market, thus providing our hospital with greater competitive advantage. Then, as a nurse in Zhongshan Hospital, a well-known third-class first-class hospital in China, how should we keep pace with the times and integrate our work into the trend of the times?

In fact, in today's era, the concept of building a harmonious society and advocating humanized service have long been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Humanistic care has become one of the most frequently used words, the management concept and service concept of all walks of life in society, and exists in every corner of society. Of course, this also includes the medical service industry. Relatively speaking, medical care is the most humanized service. Patients coming to the hospital for medical treatment are at a fragile moment in their lives. At this moment, what patients crave most is the warmth of human nature, and what can win the hearts of patients most is humanistic care.

Nursing is the core and essence of nursing specialty. American scholar Dr. Leininger believes that there is no care without care, and the essence of care is care. Humanistic spirit is simply people-oriented and people-oriented. As the embodiment of humanistic spirit in nursing work, nursing humanistic care refers to sincere care and care for patients' rights and needs such as life, health and personal dignity in the nursing process. It requires our nurses to respect every patient and treat every life well in clinical work, regardless of the social class and background of the clients. We should pay attention to patients, care about patients, pay attention to patients' personality, meet patients' reasonable needs and respect patients' privacy; In the final analysis, it is a sentence-"everything is patient-centered."

20 10- 1, the Ministry of Health launched the "Quality Nursing Service Demonstration Project" in the national health system, with the goal of "consolidating basic nursing and providing satisfactory services", enriching the content of nursing services, truly implementing the connotation of nursing services, and finally reaching the service standards of "patient satisfaction, social satisfaction and government satisfaction". In my opinion, high-quality nursing service emphasizes the integration of the "patient-centered" nursing concept and humanistic care into the nursing service for patients, and strengthens communication with patients while providing basic nursing services and professional technical services to provide patients with truly humanized nursing services. I'd like to take this opportunity to share with you some experiences and thoughts after I participated in quality nursing activities, from initial confusion to later understanding, tolerance and finally clarity and firmness.

1 Strengthen professional quality and humanistic cultivation;

Professional quality is the key to determine the quality of humanized nursing service. Nightingale said: "Nurses are actually angels without wings, and they are the embodiment of truth, goodness and beauty." This is not only a compliment to our professional image, but also a requirement for our professional quality. In my opinion, as a qualified nurse, we should not only improve our professional and technical level through continuous learning, but also strengthen our humanistic cultivation, and put dignified appearance, beautiful language, decent manners and superb technology throughout the whole process of nursing work, so that patients can feel the sincerity and care from nursing staff.

For patients who have just been admitted to the hospital, the dignified and gentle image of nurses and smiling greetings can alleviate the nervousness of patients who have just arrived in strange environments; Using the appellation that patients are willing to accept can close the relationship with patients and eliminate strangeness; In the morning shift, a cordial greeting can make patients feel warm; Try to use considerate and caring tone in the nursing process, which can make patients have a sense of identity with nurses and nursing work; For patients with surgery or pain, cordial and sincere comfort can alleviate the pain of patients; Patiently listen to patients' questions and gain patients' understanding with reasonable explanations; For patients with depression, proper guidance and encouragement can stimulate the courage and confidence of patients to overcome the disease ... Think about it carefully, this scene actually happens around us every day, so that the relationship between nurses and patients is harmonious and the light of humanity shines in it.

2. Implement basic nursing care

Enrich the connotation of nursing service;

According to Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory, physiological needs are the most basic needs of human beings. When patients can't take care of themselves due to illness, nursing behavior occurs. Therefore, nursing itself originated from life nursing, which is the most important content that patients need to care for, and basic clinical nursing contains a lot of life nursing, which shows that basic nursing is one of the nursing projects that can best reflect humanistic care. Nevertheless, when I first learned from the head nurse about the new requirements of the "quality nursing service demonstration project" for patients' life nursing, I actually didn't understand it, even contradicted it. "Why do nurses have to do such low-tech jobs when their academic qualifications are getting higher and higher?" "I am busy enough every day, and I have to bear such a heavy workload of life care. I am not confused." "I have to wash the patient's hair and feet, right?" ..... but slowly, on the one hand, under the influence of the teacher's words and deeds, on the other hand, the accumulation of clinical practice, I finally realized my lack of understanding. In the process of implementing basic nursing service, we can not only carry out effective nursing work for patients through our professional knowledge, but also carefully observe the changes of patients' condition and the occurrence of complications, so as to facilitate doctors to deal with them in time. More importantly, through the implementation of basic nursing, patients can truly feel the care from nursing staff, narrow the distance between them and promote good communication and understanding between nurses and patients. In fact, in clinical work, although a small number of family members don't understand or even despise this, they are more affirmed and praised by patients and their families, and our work achievements have been recognized, further enhancing our initiative and sense of responsibility.

Hippocrates, a famous ancient Greek doctor, once said, "What kind of disease a person has is more important than knowing what kind of disease a person has." Different patients have different gender, age, personality characteristics, education level, political background, economic conditions, social experience, disease types and severity, and have different needs, expectations and feelings for nursing. While providing patients with basic and specialized care, we should understand patients' needs, respect patients' wishes, provide personalized services, and provide patients with guidance in psychological care, disease prevention, diet control and rehabilitation exercise, which is also the embodiment of humanistic care in nursing services. I realize that this not only requires us to have more solid professional basic knowledge and constantly broaden our relevant knowledge, but more importantly, we must have keen observation and good communication skills, which are indispensable.

3 Pay attention to service details

Create an atmosphere of humanistic care;

Walking into the 5 ward of obstetrics and gynecology where I am located, the environment in the ward is clean, comfortable and quiet. The first thing you see is the blue graded nursing bulletin board and the health education column carefully arranged by the sisters. Turn the corner and you can see the end of the white corridor at a glance. Corridor painting? In the soft light, it reveals the warmth of home. Walking into the ward, the name of the responsible nurse was written on the wall. Here, it is just an ordinary room in many wards of Zhongshan Hospital, but it embodies the concept of providing humanized service for patients everywhere. I hope that through our efforts, we can provide patients with a warm and harmonious medical environment.

But compared with facilities, it is more important to create a warm and enthusiastic service environment. Without the atmosphere of humanistic care, even the superior medical conditions will be eclipsed. Imagine a scene where a patient is anxiously waiting for you in your busy work and asks you to help you do something that is not very urgent in your opinion. Relatively speaking, the work in your hand is more important and urgent. Maybe you will ignore it, and the other party will say, "What's the hurry? Can't you see that I am busy? " But maybe you will say in an inquiring and gentle tone, "Please wait a moment, and I'll do it for you as soon as I'm finished. Is that all right? " It can be described as "a word for heaven, a word for hell".

To create a good humanistic care atmosphere, we should adhere to the inherent concept of "nurses should respect patients and care for life no matter what occasion and time", and implement it in every detail of nursing behavior. Inadvertently, in the nuances, the patient can feel the care and care for him or her. Sometimes, a look, a smile, a greeting and a helping hand will be the beginning of sincere treatment between nurses and patients. There is a popular idiom in English: details determine success or failure. In other words, details determine success or failure. What I want to say is that angels are also in the details. Humanistic care in nursing is embodied in the word "love". Caring for patients and adopting the way of moistening things silently are the true portrayal of nursing work.

4. Respect the patient's privacy and improve the communication ability between nurses and patients;

Nurse-patient communication is the concrete application of humanistic care in clinical nursing. Effective nurse-patient communication is helpful to establish a good nurse-patient relationship, improve work effect, improve patient satisfaction and resolve medical disputes. In fact, according to the survey, about 80% of nurse-patient disputes and complaints are caused by poor communication between nurses and patients.

Our patients are a special group. They are not only physically ill, but also in a complex psychological state of anxiety, tension and fear, and need to be cared for, sympathized with, supported, understood and respected. Therefore, respecting the patient's life value, personal dignity and personal privacy is the prerequisite for effective communication between nurses and patients. In my opinion, it is very important to learn empathy for good nurse-patient communication. Think of yourself as a patient or a patient's family, and try to figure out and feel their psychology, so as to truly understand the patient's pain and their behavior. In clinical work, we often meet some patients who don't cooperate with our work, and many people are very picky. To tell the truth, nurses are human beings, and they also have joys and sorrows. When they meet such patients, they will inevitably be depressed and even angry. However, if we calm down and think about it afterwards and put ourselves in the other's shoes, we can deeply understand the hidden reasons behind the patient's behavior, thus guiding us to better communicate with patients and gain their understanding and cooperation. In addition, in the process of communication, we should pay more attention to the skills and methods of nurse-patient communication. In the process of communication, we should show confidence, focus our eyes, speak clearly and clearly, and gain the trust of patients; Create a relaxed; A harmonious and natural atmosphere facilitates communication. Listen patiently, become a loyal listener of patients and give feedback to patients at the same time; Choose appropriate words to guide patients; Correct use of nonverbal communication skills ...

Without nursing, there is no nursing. Nursing is rich and profound because of its humanistic care, and nursing work is great and lofty because of its humanistic care, which is praised by people. Try to care about every patient. I believe that our nursing work will be more complicated and the workload will be heavier. We may be more tired, but the patients are satisfied and stop complaining, and we will get more understanding, praise and respect. I believe that everyone is still willing to be so "painful and happy".

Finally, I want to encourage you with Bing Xin's words: Love is on the left, sympathy is on the right, walk on both sides of life, sow and blossom at any time, decorate this long journey with fragrant flowers, so that pedestrians who wear branches and brush leaves will not feel pain when they step on thorns, but tears will fall without sadness.
