Which city is known as Little Hong Kong?

Zhangmutou, Dongguan Zhangmutou, Dongguan: A small village in the past is now the "back garden"

Zhangmutou, Dongguan is known as "Little Hong Kong". At night, the lights flicker, creating a charming scene. Because it was opened earlier, high-rise buildings were built first in Dongguan. The environment is elegant and the atmosphere is casual. More and more outsiders like to live here. Because of its prosperity and livability, many people are reluctant to leave Zhangmutou once they enter it. It deserves to be called the charming capital of Lingnan.

Thirty years ago, on a hot summer day, the reporter visited Zhangmutou, and the rural scene of Zhangmutou in the past was vivid in his mind. Back then, when I walked out of Zhangmutou Railway Station and walked north to a small pond, I saw a simple rural landscape painting: a little buffalo was lying in the pond playing in the water, and several old ladies in colorful clothes gathered under the trees to enjoy the cool air. Hand-cranked cattail fans and cool breezes convey a southern pastoral style. Approaching the small courtyard of the Zhangmutou People's Commune at that time, there were two signs hanging at the door - Zhangmutou People's Commune and Zhangmutou Revolutionary Committee. The director of the Revolutionary Committee at that time treated reporters like gods with a bowl of rice wine and two plates of cooking, and his enthusiasm was something people will never forget. As the clarion call for reform is sounded in China's southern coastal areas, the signs of the people's communes and revolutionary committees in the past are no longer safe today? But what appeared instead was another scene that seemed like a world away: the rural roads in Zhangmutou were much wider, and the countryside had turned into cities. More importantly, it was opened earlier here, and the humanities and ecology are more attractive.

Thirty years later, this railway transportation line is still the same, but it exerts a different magical power. The town has become prosperous, and the appearance of Zhangmutou is changing with each passing day. Convenient transportation, the advantages of being close to Hong Kong, low prices, and a good ecological environment are attracting more and more Hong Kong people to gather here. According to incomplete statistics, among the current nearly 400,000 permanent residents of Zhangmutou Town, only more than 20,000 are local registered residents. The rest are "Xinguan people". Among them, about 150,000 are from Hong Kong. Hong Kong people regard this place as a leisure vacation. 's "back garden". Every weekend, Hong Kong people can be seen everywhere in Zhangmutou, and the colorful "Little Hong Kong" has become famous far and wide.

Many well-known investors have invested heavily here. Among them, Hong Kong Crown Holdings International Group has successively launched six major gardens in Zhangmutou Town over the past ten years, including Longteng Garden, Longwei Garden, Central Plaza, Victoria Garden, Continental Garden and Dynasty Pavilion, with a total construction area of ??more than 400,000 yuan. Square meters, there are both shops and residential buildings. According to reports, more than 3,000 commercial and residential units were sold, and the total transaction volume exceeded HK$1 billion. As for Victoria Garden, it set a domestic real estate sales record in China, with more than 800 commercial and residential units sold in one week. Most of the buyers are Hong Kong people, accounting for about 60%. Last August, well-known brands such as PARKnSHOP, McDonald's, Watsons, and Café de Coral entered Zhangmutou Victoria Shopping Plaza.

Li Mantang, secretary of the Zhangmutou Town Party Committee, said in an interview with a reporter from China News Service that Zhangmutou was also affected by the global financial crisis last year. The collapse of the Hejun Zhangmutou factory, one of the world's largest toy OEMs, shocked China and the world. More than 7,600 workers lost their jobs overnight, making it the first major economic town in mainland China to be hit hard by the financial crisis. At present, the economy is recovering and the property market is quietly heating up. The highest housing price in Zhangmutou has reached RMB 5,000 to RMB 6,000 per square meter. New properties such as Zhonghui Xiangzhang Oasis, Emperor Yong Garden, and Yujing Garden are highly favored by home buyers.

A reporter once interviewed a Hunan girl who had worked in Zhangmutou for four years and asked her about her feelings about Zhangmutou. Her words were full of attachment, "I have feelings for Zhangmutou. I think it is small but has all the internal organs." As for the nightlife, what are you doing? She replied: "Go shopping, go to bars, restaurants, and go to night school to recharge your batteries."
