Notice to parents on COVID-19 vaccination for people aged 3-11 years old in Dantu District

Dear parents and friends:

Children are also susceptible to COVID-19. Kindergartens, Primary schools are crowded places. Once an epidemic occurs, it is easy to cause local spread. Vaccination is the best way to prevent COVID-19. Vaccination of children against COVID-19 is an important measure to block the spread of the virus and is conducive to further building an immune barrier for the entire population.

According to the unified deployment arrangements of the country, province and city, on November 13, 2021, our district launched the new coronavirus vaccination work for people aged 3-11 years old in the district. The relevant matters are now announced as follows:

1. Use of vaccines

Currently, there are three types of vaccines available for people aged 3-11 years old in our province, including Sinopharm Beijing Company, Beijing Science and Technology Co., Ltd. Inactivated vaccines from Xingzhongwei Company and Sinopharm Sinopharm Wuhan Company.

2. Vaccination arrangements

New coronavirus vaccination for people aged 3-11 years old follows the principle of "informed consent, voluntariness", and children of appropriate age and without contraindications "should receive all vaccinations." The first vaccination will be completed before November 20. In order to facilitate student vaccination, a special vaccination site for students has been set up. In accordance with the principles of local management and nearby convenience, and to avoid crowds and long waiting times, children’s guardians are required to go to the corresponding vaccination site for vaccination in principle according to the time notified by the school and the vaccination unit.

3. Precautions

Vaccination for people aged 3-11 years old requires a guardian to accompany them throughout the process. The guardian will bring his/her personal ID card, child ID card, and child's "Vaccination Certificate". If the child's guardian cannot go in person, please download the power of attorney in advance, fill it out and sign it and give it to the person who is authorized to do so, and provide it to the vaccination unit during vaccination.

Before vaccination, guardians should prevent children from being hungry and tired, and wear loose clothes for children to facilitate vaccination. If the child is unwell, vaccination should be postponed.

To maintain vaccination order, each child is limited to one guardian. Guardians of children must cooperate in temperature measurement and code verification, wear masks throughout the process, and keep a one-meter distance when queuing to avoid getting together. Persons with a recent history of living in prefecture-level cities where the epidemic occurred are not allowed to go to vaccination clinics.

Guardians should fully understand the contents of the "New Coronavirus Vaccination Informed Consent Form", accept health inquiries and informed notifications, and truthfully inform the doctor about the child's health status. Vaccination can only be done after a doctor's evaluation and the guardian's signed informed consent.

If the vaccination recipients are allergic to the components of the new coronavirus vaccine, have had severe allergic reactions during previous vaccinations, have uncontrolled epilepsy or other serious neurological diseases, they should not be vaccinated.

For those who need to receive other vaccines in the near future, the vaccination time should be more than 14 days apart from the new coronavirus vaccine. At the same time, priority should be given to ensuring the vaccination of the national immunization program vaccine. Rabies and tetanus vaccinations are not subject to vaccination interval restrictions.

After vaccination, you must stay at the site for observation for 30 minutes. If the child feels unwell, the doctor should be informed promptly. After 30 minutes, the child can only leave after confirming that there is no abnormality. After vaccination, a small number of people may experience flu-like reactions such as fever and fatigue, pain at the vaccination site, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as loss of appetite. These are normal reactions, and guardians are advised to observe and judge.

No vaccine can be 100% effective. Even if they are vaccinated against the new coronavirus, guardians still need to educate children to take precautions, wash hands frequently, avoid gatherings, use one-meter noodles, share meals, and wear masks scientifically. This is not only helpful in blocking the spread of the new coronavirus, but is also effective in preventing common infectious diseases in autumn and winter.
