Evergreen Marine’s year-end bonus can receive up to 52 months’ salary

Evergreen Group has been giving out benefits on the operating day before New Year’s Day, because everyone is waiting for the year-end bonus. Regarding this matter, Evergreen Shipping emphasized that year-end bonuses have always been distributed based on the company's operating performance and employees' personal performance. Market participants pointed out that the default optimal number of employees reached 40 months by the end of the year, setting a new record.

In fact, Evergreen’s profit in 2020 was NT$24.364 billion, with earnings per share of NT$5.06, setting a new record in 16 years. At that time, Evergreen not only generously distributed 10 months of year-end bonuses, but also increased salaries by 3 to 4 starting from January 2021.

It is worth mentioning that COSCO Shipping Holdings (601919) and China National Group (00039), the leading listed A-share international shipping companies, also made a lot of money. In the first three quarters of 2021, COSCO Shipping Holdings made a desperate profit of 67.6 billion yuan. Zhang Mingwen, chief accountant of COSCO Shipping Holdings, made it clear at the first shareholders meeting of 2021 held by the company that day that the company is expected to have year-end dividend standards by the end of this year.

Analysts believe that the epidemic has made many industries unaffordable, but the shipping industry is a special case among necessary and sufficient conditions. Since the fourth quarter of last year, high-end freight rates have been unable to return due to the continuous blockage of ports. Although there will be successive projects to invest in new ships in the next three years, the maritime industry will continue to develop by 2023.
