The alchemist realized that this was the incarnation of Guanyin in the South China Sea, showing compassion to all living beings and giving enlightenment. The alchemist vowed to build a dojo here to worship Guanyin. The residents responded enthusiastically and it was quickly built. On the day when the main hall was completed and the Guanyin statue was consecrated, manna fell from the sky, the drought eased, and soon the plague stopped.

For thousands of years since then, "There is no major disaster in Dongguan, but Guanyin Bodhisattva will resolve it" has become a common saying among the people, and "going to the yellow flag to worship Guanyin" has become a traditional custom. The ancients said: "Mountains are the beauty of the land, and temples are the beauty of the mountains." It is precisely because of the long-standing dharma lineage that Huangqi Mountain has become a blessed and holy mountain for the people of Dongguan, and the Huangqi Guanyin Ancient Temple has become a Buddhist holy place where believers place their faith.
