Cultural Relics Collected by Yancheng Museum

The museum * * * has a collection of cultural relics18,000 pieces, most of which are representative historical relics from the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties in Yancheng, and more than 4,000 pieces of revolutionary cultural relics reflect the revolutionary struggle history of Yancheng War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the Liberation War. Mr. Zhao Tailai, a British Chinese, has donated more than 800 cultural relics to Yancheng Museum three times. Our museum has specially set up the Zhao Tailai Cultural Relics Museum, the name of which was inscribed by Mr. Wang Guangying. Relatives of Mr. Hu Gongshi, a famous calligrapher in Yancheng, donated more than 200 works and materials before his death to the museum, and specially established the "Hu Gongshi Calligraphy Art Museum", whose name was inscribed by Mr. Zhao Puchu.

The museum's basic exhibitions include Yancheng historical relics reflecting Yancheng's 5,000-year history-from the beach to the city, cultural relics donated by Zhao Tailai, religious cultural relics donated by Zhao Tailai, and Hu Gongshi calligraphy art donated by Mr. Zhao Tailai, which mainly reflects Tibetan Buddhist painting Thangka.

Yancheng Museum also has a collection of more than 3,800 modern revolutionary cultural relics, including file boxes, telephone racks and inkstones used by the older generation of revolutionaries such as Liu Shaoqi and Chen Yi in Yancheng. There are also relics of famous martyrs such as Song, Cheng and Zhao Jingzhi; There are also many notices, circulars, propaganda slogans, weapons and so on. It reflects the history of local revolution in Yancheng and is a precious object to carry out revolutionary traditional education.
