Although the online purchase of train tickets has been basically realized, according to the current conditions and the Interim Measures for Internet Ticket Purchase of Passenger Trains, except for Beijing-Tianjin intercity, Beijing-Shanghai, Shanghai-Nanjing and Shanghai-Hangzhou high-speed trains, other trains need to exchange paper tickets before they can ride.

According to Article 16 of Chapter II of the Measures, after successful online ticket purchase, passengers can exchange paper tickets in the following three ways:

Railway e-tickets purchased with the second-generation resident ID card can be exchanged for paper tickets at the station ticketing window with the original valid second-generation resident ID card used at the time of ticket purchase (if it is not the second-generation ID card and the system cannot recognize it, the original valid passenger ID card and the order number used at the time of ticket purchase shall be presented).

Second, the exchange of train ticket sales outlets.

The railway electronic ticket purchased with the second-generation resident ID card can be exchanged for a paper ticket at the nearest railway ticket sales point with the original valid second-generation resident ID card used at the time of ticket purchase (if it is not the second-generation ID card and cannot be recognized by the system, the original valid passenger ID card and the order number used at the time of ticket purchase are required).

Third, the station ticket vending machine.

In conditional stations, you can also use automatic ticket vending machines for exchange.
