However, the earthquake has caused the submarine fault to rupture, and some submarine optical cable poles have been buried deep under the sea. In addition, the fault point is also located in a dense area of ??submarine cables, and submarine cables will inevitably cross each other. Phenomenon, salvage is very difficult.

According to the latest inspections, some broken cables need to be replaced with new cables up to 400 meters long. However, the current offshore weather conditions are severe and repair work cannot be started immediately. People from China Telecom said that if climate and other conditions can improve in the future, and if the repair work goes smoothly, it is expected to be completely restored to normal levels around January 15, 2007.

At present, China Telecom has urgently opened an additional 20G Internet circuit, which has returned to 70% of the normal usage level.
