How to judge refurbished machines
Refurbishing a mobile phone is actually collecting the original movement, casing, and outer packaging for repair or processing, and then selling it as a new machine. Refurbished machines are roughly divided into three categories: first, old machines with circuit board problems that are repackaged and sold after repair or parts assembly. The performance of such machines is the most unstable; second, old machines whose shells have been processed or replaced and then repackaged for sale. Sell ??new ones; third, informal channel machines are refreshed and repackaged through software and sold as new. These refurbished machines have a unique feature, that is, they cannot enjoy the same after-sales service as regular licensed products. This week, this newspaper will introduce some experiences in identifying refurbished mobile phones to prevent consumers from being deceived.
Tip 1: Look at the serial number (IMEI)
The IMEI number of each mobile phone is unique. Generally speaking, you can use this to determine whether a phone is genuine. The identification method is as follows: Enter *#06# in the standby state of the phone. The string of numbers displayed on the phone is its motherboard serial number. Write it down; remove the battery and look at the white ones on the two labels on the back of the phone. The serial number on the label (that is, the chassis serial number), and the other label is usually the network access license. Is it consistent with the previous number? Look at the IMEI number on the box of the machine and compare the three to see if they are consistent. If the motherboard serial number and the chassis serial number are inconsistent, then the machine is likely to have been repaired or assembled from parts. If the three serial numbers are consistent and there is a network access license, it can basically prove that the machine is genuine.
Tip 2: Look at the outer packaging and instructions of the machine
The packaging and instructions of regular new machines are beautifully printed, mostly printed on coated paper, and the fonts and images are very clear and layered. Most of the counterfeit packaging boxes are imitations of simple single-sided paper, with rough fonts and images, and blurred printing. Many modified instructions from informal channels are even copied. There are also some refurbished machines that use the original genuine packaging box and manual, but after all, the machine is old, and the packaging box must be worn, and the manual must also have signs of use.
Tip 3: Check the network access license
There is a watermark on the real network access license, and the color on the surface is uneven, dark and light, thick and thin; and there are many fake ones. For copying, there is no change in surface color. If you can't see it, you can also use a banknote detector to take a picture of the network access license. There is indeed an anti-counterfeiting pattern inside: it shows a red "CMII" pattern. The fake pattern is blurry. Genuine network access licenses are usually printed with dot matrix printers, and the numbers are clear. If you look carefully, there are dents made by the pins, while fake network access licenses are printed with ordinary printers, and the numbers are not very clear and there are no dents.
Tip 4: Look at the phone case
When you open a new mobile phone, you will obviously notice that the inner screen, outer screen, camera and other "key parts" are covered with films. Pay attention to protection, as long as these parts are touched, fingerprints will be left. In addition, dust and traces of use are also unavoidable in refurbished machines. The gaps between the upper and lower shells of the machine, the gaps around the keyboard, and the charger slot are all places where dirt can easily hide. There will also be traces of use on the rotating shaft, so you should also pay special attention to it.
The casings used in refurbished machines are generally imitations of the original ones, or are carefully processed from old casings. Therefore, the front and rear parts of the machine casing are prone to not closing tightly and leaving large gaps. Identification The method is to use your fingernails to see if they can be inserted into the seam between the upper and lower covers of the phone. If they can be inserted, the case is assembled.
Tip 5: Look at mobile phone accessories
New phones from regular manufacturers have a full set of original accessories, and they must at least have a battery and a charger. The accessories of refurbished mobile phones are generally not complete or not original. Before purchasing, it is best to go to relevant websites to find out what the standard original accessories are. In addition, if you find scratches on the matching charger and headphone plug, then the phone is probably not brand new.
Tip 6: Check the usage records
When buying a new phone, you should also check whether the games, text messages, phone book, call records, self-made ringtones and other items in the phone have been used. If there are old records, they are likely to have been refurbished. In addition, during normal use, the phone frequently automatically shuts down or freezes. Then, it can be safely said that there are certain problems with the motherboard or software of this phone, and it is inevitable that it has been refurbished
