Can I change the ringtone of Apple's mobile phone?

Learn how to change the sound you hear when you receive a phone call, text message, email or other notification on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. You can choose from a variety of built-in sounds or buy ringtones from the iTunes Store.

How to change the ringtone

Go to settings > sounds and touches.

In ring and vibration mode, tap the sound you want to change.

Tap the ringtone or prompt to hear the effect and set it as a new sound.

Set the ringtone or SMS ringtone of the contact.

Open the Contacts application and tap someone's name.

In the upper right corner of this contact's business card, tap Edit.

Tap Phone Ringtone or SMS Ringtone, then choose a new sound.

Buy ringtones from the iTunes Store

Open the iTunes Store application.

Click "More".

Tap the bell.

Find the ringtone you want to buy and click the price.

Select an option to set the ringtone automatically. Or click Finish to decide later.

You may need to enter your own Apple ID password to complete the purchase.

The applicability and related functions of stores may vary from country to country. Find out what your country or region offers.

Re-download the ringtone purchased with your Apple ID.

Go to settings > sounds and touches.

In ringtone and vibration mode, tap any ringtone.

Tap Download all purchased ringtones. If you have downloaded all the purchased ringtones, or have not purchased any ringtones, you may not see this option.

You may not be able to re-download some previously purchased ringtones.

Use custom ringtones

If you create a custom ringtone in an application such as Library Band, you can sync it to iPhone, iPad or iPod touch using iTunes for Windows or Access on your Mac.

Connect iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your computer.

On the PC, open iTunes for Windows. On the Mac, open Access.

Drag and drop the ringtone to your device.
