Zhaotong Education Bureau has 18 departments: Party Committee Office, Administrative Office, Education Supervision Office, Financial Planning Office, Education Office, Vocational and Adult Education Office, Regulation Supervision and Examination Office, Ethnic Education Office, Personnel Office, School Safety Management Office, Sansheng Education Office, Admissions Examination Office, Educational Science Research Institute, Teaching Instrument Station, Audio-visual Education Center, Student Financial Assistance Management Center, Discipline Inspection Commission and Comprehensive Office.

Main responsibilities:

(a) to implement the educational principles, policies, laws and regulations of the party and the state; To study and formulate opinions and normative documents on the implementation of education in the whole city, and supervise the implementation.

(two) to study and put forward the city's education reform and development strategy, formulate specific measures and implementation plans for the reform of the city's education system, and guide the implementation.

(three) the preparation of the city's education development plan, responsible for the overall planning and coordinated management of all kinds of education at all levels; Guide the planning and adjustment of the layout structure of primary and secondary schools.

(IV) Comprehensive management of the city's basic education, general education, preschool education, vocational education, ethnic education, adult education and special education, guidance and management of education in counties and districts, responsible for education supervision and evaluation, examination and approval of the establishment and cancellation of high schools, and professional setting of secondary vocational schools, and responsible for examination and approval of running schools by municipal social forces.

(5) Promoting the balanced development of compulsory education and promoting educational equity; Promote the teaching reform of basic education and fully implement quality education.

(six) responsible for the overall management of education funds in this department; Participate in the formulation of policies and measures to raise education funds, education grants and education infrastructure investment; Supervise the collection and use of education funds in the city; Responsible for the distribution, management and supervision of education funds and subsidies at the central, provincial and municipal levels; Manage foreign education loans and some education assistance inside and outside the province.

(seven) to co-ordinate and guide the city's education supervision work; Responsible for organizing and guiding the supervision, inspection and evaluation of secondary and below secondary education, and guiding the quality monitoring of basic education. Make overall planning and comprehensive management of private education in the city, standardize the order of running private education, and promote the healthy development of private education.

(eight) to guide the spiritual civilization construction and ideological and political, moral education, sports, health, art, national defense education and other work of the city's education system; Guide educational research, audio-visual education, teaching instruments and equipment, and popularize experimental teaching. To promote the construction of modern educational technology and equipment and educational informatization; Manage the city's education society.
