Why doesn't texting with iMessage show delivery or reading?

Ordinary SMS does not show that it has been delivered or read. You can only display iMessage if it is activated and "Send Read Receipt" is turned on in the options.

For example:

Display delivered, but not read, indicating that the other party has set "Don't display read". One case is read, and the other case is unread. I hope it helps you!
