I finally uninstalled Ctrip APP from my phone
I didn’t want to write about this topic. I watched the video of my mother crying in the middle of the night last night, and I couldn't help but burst into tears. After returning to the homepage of my mobile phone, I deleted the Ctrip APP without hesitation - even though it has been with me for many years.
I posted an update in my circle of friends, and in the morning I saw a message from a friend saying, "You are a naive netizen who is easily led." I smiled and replied "haha".
I have always considered myself to be in the rational minority, and I strive to maintain sober and independent thinking when it comes to others’ ideas and practices. During lunch today, I reviewed some of my interactions with Ctrip.
In the year of graduation, I submitted my resume to Ctrip for an interview through 51job. I remember that Ctrip’s office at that time was in a certain building in Xujiahui. I applied for a technical engineer position, and the interview ended after the interviewer asked a few questions. Then I never received a notification from Ctrip HR.
I don’t know if it’s because the interviewer thinks my skills are too poor or for other reasons. Soon after, I entered the Microsoft Global Technology Center through an interview, and my career development path has been smooth since then.
As a technology enthusiast, I started using Ctrip’s APP very early. Once I took my whole family on a self-driving trip from Shanghai to Xiamen, and all the hotels along the way were booked through Ctrip. The night I arrived in Xiamen, I found that the four-star hotel I booked was unreliable and the surrounding area was deserted. I walked from the parking lot to the upper floor of the lobby and decided to change my hotel.
I called Ctrip customer service to tell them the details and reasons, and asked to switch to Le Meridien. The customer service said that the order could not be returned or exchanged, and even if I booked a new hotel, the old room fee could not be refunded.
For the safety of my family and the mood of the trip, I finally paid for Le Méridien and paid for double the room fee. A few days later, after repeated complaints from my wife, Ctrip refunded and exchanged the ticket for RMB 50.
Last year, my mother’s sisters traveled to Jiuzhaigou together and bought tickets for 8 people on Ctrip. The input of personal information was done by my aunt. She has lived in Japan and Hong Kong all year round, so her pinyin is not very good.
One of the eight people entered the pinyin of their name incorrectly, and only when they arrived at the airport did they find that they could not board the plane. I bought a full-price ticket on the spot and set off a few hours later. I asked Ctrip whether I could reduce the loss of the return ticket a few days later, but I still disagreed.
This result cannot be blamed on Ctrip. Although the elders feel distressed, they still understand that this is not Ctrip’s fault.
The Ctrip APP has been upgraded, and some paid products will be secretly added to any ticket purchase. I have also encountered everything that was exposed on the Internet not long ago, including the price rising after checking the same flight multiple times and showing insufficient remaining tickets. When I changed the computer to check (different logged-in users), everything was normal again.
Although I feel a little unhappy, I understand that as a listed company, Ctrip should provide customers with good value-added services and make money at the same time, although the technical means used are somewhat low.
After seeing online reports, I didn’t open the video at first. I felt that the main problem was the Women’s Federation and third-party organizations, and Ctrip was also a victim.
Later I saw the PR document and the CEO’s email, and I felt that the writing was pretty good and there were no major problems. Later, I saw a post saying that Ctrip asked the victimized employees to block the news, and Weibo was also controlling the popularity. I can understand that which company does not cherish its reputation.
But once I opened that video, the anger and sadness in my heart burst out.
In so many years of interaction with Ctrip, I have never felt a little bit of warmth and customer care from Ctrip, and I have never been moved by Ctrip! It is getting bigger and bigger, becoming a cold listed company, using capital to merge with eLong and Qunar. Other than that, it never left any positive impression on me!
Through this parent-child scandal, will Ctrip be completely awakened and reborn, becoming a respected and proud company again? Actually the other question is, does anyone care?
