The authentication operation needed to be completed by clicking a link. Because Xiaokang just finished ETC soon, he didn't doubt it, and he didn't hesitate to click on the link to start authentication, so he came to this page-

After Xiaokang enters the page, enter the bank card number, password, personal information and bank reserved mobile phone number in turn according to the displayed prompts. Soon, he received a verification code message. Xiaokang still didn't think much, and entered the verification code into the authentication interface. "Ding-"He didn't realize that he had been cheated until he received a short message that the bank card deducted 20,000 yuan.

On the evening of April 27th, around 10, Ms. Yang, a citizen of Rongchang, received a short message from a strange number: "Hello, dear car owner! Your ETC certification has expired. To avoid affecting your travel, please click on the link for certification before April 28. " Thinking of her travel plan for the May Day holiday, Ms. Yang clicked on the link without thinking, and filled in the ID number, credit card number, security password and SMS verification code according to the pop-up webpage. What she was waiting for was not a notice of successful authentication, but a reminder that the bank had spent 12000 yuan in total. Ms. Yang, who realized that she had been cheated, quickly alerted the local police station. At present, the case is under further investigation.

In fact, this kind of fraud routine is not new, but because of mastering the user mentality of car owners and the popularity of ETC, many drivers do not know it in detail, and the authorities are fascinated, which leads to frequent recruitment.

This kind of scam message not only contains statements such as "authentication failed", "need to be reactivated" and "system upgrade", but also contains various website links. Once clicked easily, after jumping to the website, the balance on the card will soon be transferred away and emptied, falling into the pocket of the liar. In this regard, many public security organs have also rumored that ETC does not need secondary certification!
