Anti-abduction work in crime of trafficking in women and children

On October 28th, 28, it was learned at the first liaison meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Joint Conference on Action against Abduction of Women and Children that the anti-abduction work in China has achieved remarkable results, and the number of crimes of abducting women and children in the whole country has declined. However, such crimes are still prominent in some areas, and some new features have emerged in the criminal situation and means. China will earnestly strengthen the anti-abduction and abduction work. These new features are: the trend of criminal gangs is obvious, and the criminal network is complicated; The object of trafficking is complicated, and the number of cases targeting children is increasing. Illegal adoption is still the main purpose of the crime of trafficking in children. The criminal means are diversified and violent, and cases of stealing and robbing children occur from time to time. Some criminal suspects abduct women through new criminal means such as chatting, making friends and dating. The crime area has gradually expanded, and transnational and cross-border cases of abducting and selling women and children have occurred frequently.

Zhang Xinfeng, vice minister of the Ministry of Public Security, said that solving the trafficking crime requires the concerted efforts of relevant departments and all sectors of society, and the national anti-trafficking action plan has laid a good foundation for multi-sectoral cooperation. All members of the joint meeting should make clear their objectives, improve measures, fulfill their responsibilities, pay close attention to implementation, and promote the anti-trafficking work to develop in depth.

On January 1, 28, the China Action Plan against Trafficking in Women and Children was implemented. This action plan involves 28 ministries and commissions, covering various fields of anti-trafficking work such as prevention, crackdown, victim assistance, repatriation and rehabilitation, and international cooperation. According to the action plan, an inter-ministerial joint conference system for action against trafficking in women and children will be established, with the Ministry of Public Security as the lead unit, and various regions, especially the key areas of trafficking in women and children, will establish corresponding anti-trafficking working mechanisms according to their respective realities.
