The electricity bill is too expensive. Is there anything I can complain about?

If the electricity bill is too expensive, the owner can complain or report to the local price administrative department. Relevant laws and regulations prohibit any unit or individual from charging other fees in the electricity bill; However, if there are other provisions in laws and administrative regulations, those provisions shall prevail. Details are as follows:

1. The pricing of electricity charges is decided by the Price Bureau. If there are unreasonable charges, you can make comments to the local price bureau. If there is a problem of arbitrary charges, a series of punishment measures will be taken after verification;

2. If the power supply company refuses to handle it, the owner will collect the electricity bill and complain to the price department or through 123 15, so long as the owner's demands are reasonable, they can be effectively solved;

3. The Price Bureau and the government should monitor the collection of electricity charges in real time, and no unit or individual may charge other fees when collecting electricity charges. Once found, it will be punished according to regulations.

Legal basis: Article 43 of the Electricity Law of People's Republic of China (PRC).

No unit may set the electricity price beyond the authority of electricity price management. Power supply enterprises shall not change the electricity price without authorization.

Article 44

No unit or individual may charge other fees in the electricity bill; However, if there are other provisions in laws and administrative regulations, those provisions shall prevail.

Where a local fund-raising office collects additional electricity charges, the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government shall formulate measures in accordance with the relevant provisions of the State Council.

Power supply enterprises are prohibited from charging other fees when collecting electricity charges.
