How to prepare for the second interview of graduate students in Minzu University of China?

Personal situation: there are two undergraduate courses, three of which are new communication majors of Central University for Nationalities. The initial test score is 38 1, ranking around 1 18. The enrollment of this major is 108, and the retail number is 50. From my personal experience, the second interview really occupies a large proportion. Don't think that you will be stable if you do well in the initial test, and don't give up if you don't do well in the initial test. Let's share my experience in preparing for the second interview from several time nodes.

1. Before the results come out.

At this time, you can basically relax, do not need to spend too much time and energy, and prepare from three aspects.

English

① Correct pronunciation. In fact, the English retest doesn't need to be gorgeous, but the teacher with good pronunciation will have a better impression of you. I believe that most people have not practiced their spoken English well. There are many videos on the Internet that you can teach yourself, or download fluent speaking and reading apps (similar ones can be used) to cooperate with pronunciation practice.

② Prepare English self-introduction. English self-introduction is generally two paragraphs or syllogism: personal situation (learning experience)+practical experience+postgraduate project. This is a more traditional way. If you have something you want to express more, you can play it yourself, but it is generally controlled in 2-3 parts. The length of self-introduction depends on the second interview time of your school.

③ English question and answer. Questions and answers in English are generally fixed (excluding English major courses). You can search the most frequently asked questions online, sort out your answers, read them several times a day and memorize them. If you want to expand the question bank, you can use the IELTS speaking question bank. The second interview oral English is very similar to IELTS part 1, so you can refer to the IELTS speaking standard to prepare.

2. Professional courses

(1) Papers and professional books. Read more tutor's papers or books related to the topic, mainly to broaden the depth and breadth of your professional knowledge, and let the teacher feel that you have the ability of academic research as much as possible during the second interview. When reading a paper, you can't just look at it with your eyes. You'd better take notes so that you can really read your mind. I record the first-level title and the second-level title in my paper, summarize the central content with key words or one sentence, and focus on the points I am interested in.

② Specialized courses. For students who have passed the exam, it is helpful to collect some professional courses from a large number of open online courses and get the certificate of completion. There are many famous schools that offer professional courses for free.

③ Accumulate hot spots. For the new communication major, the hot spot is the examination questions, so we should exercise our ability to analyze the hot spots with professional knowledge. Pay more attention to some official WeChat accounts, such as All Media and Zhi Zhu. Com, tiger sniffing, 36Kr, etc.

3. Personal data

1 resume. My resume needs constant polishing and polishing, and my own resume has been revised six or seven times, so I started to do it as soon as possible. The content should highlight its own advantages, especially campus experience and practical experience, and it is best to have a strong connection with the major, and list the achievements. Resume is really important. During the second interview, most of the teachers' questions came from resumes. If possible, it is best to find a senior or institutional teacher to modify it.

② Personal introduction in Chinese. Chinese self-introduction is generally divided into three parts: learning experience+practical experience+future planning. Adjust according to your own situation, highlight advantages, emphasize good experience in study or practice, and implement the content, such as getting XX results in an experience or project and getting XX.

2. After the results come out

Time will be tight after the second interview results come out. Some schools may start re-examination a week after the national line comes out. At this stage, the focus should basically be on professional courses. Be sure to find the seniors and sisters in advance to understand the re-examination process. Our school is an online re-examination. The general process can be divided into: self-introduction in Chinese and English+professional class Q&A+teacher's question+English Q&A (some schools also have English interpretation).

English

There is a lot of preparation in the early stage of English. At this stage, it is good to introduce yourself and recite the English questions and answers. One hour at most every day.

2. Professional courses

① Contact the tutor. It's best to go to official website in advance to search for the information of the tutor, determine the tutor in your mind and send an email to the teacher as soon as the result comes out. The content of the email is basically to introduce your own advantages+reasons for choosing a tutor. There are many templates on the internet, but it is still recommended not to copy them mechanically, but to write them according to your own situation. Don't email several tutors at the same time! ! ! Choose one to send, and if the teacher doesn't return for two days, change to another teacher (the content of the email will change accordingly).

(2) Review the initial notes. The examination questions of the re-examination professional course are similar to those of the initial examination, so just focus on reviewing the notes made before. I turned over the sorted topics several times and added new hot memories. At the same time, the accumulated paper knowledge points can also be memorized, which will be very extra points when used in the second interview.

③ Memorize your resume and introduce yourself. Make sure you know every word in your resume by heart, and make some extensions to the points that the teacher may ask.

4 mock interview. Very, very important! ! ! A large part of the reason for my re-examination counterattack comes from full simulation practice. Find a classmate with the same major and make a video simulation with yourself (the same school is the best), and have a second interview all the time, focusing on training questions and answers in professional courses. I signed up for a second interview class (quite professional). Senior and senior helped me revise my resume and introduce myself, and put forward some questions. Later, through mock interviews with friends every day, I exercised my ability to think quickly and organize answers. The simulated topics can be self-made according to the topics/hotspots, or you can refer to some re-examination columns in the official WeChat account. My friends and I use the question bank given by our seniors, which covers almost all the knowledge points. It is very comprehensive, and after a week of simulation, we are very confident in ourselves.

3. Re-examine the adjustment of mentality

It is inevitable to be nervous in the second interview, and a slight nervousness can make the spirit more concentrated. In fact, most parts of the second interview have been prepared before, such as self-introduction, English question and answer, and teacher's questions (mainly resume or self-introduction). As long as you are familiar with these contents, you will become more confident in the future.

Although the question and answer of specialized courses is accidental and requires high thinking sensitivity and professional foundation, this ability can also be exercised in simulation, so we must pay attention to simulated interviews! ! ! It can also help you reduce the tension and error rate in front of the camera to a great extent. At the same time, the process of correcting mistakes with friends can also improve your interview ability quickly.

Be sure to show your most confident side during the second interview and pretend that you are excellent! Speak slowly, pay attention to intonation, and occasionally look at the camera and communicate with the teacher. After each question is answered, I say: The above is my view on this question.
