How to apply for a Schengen visa when studying in the UK?

For all international students who want to travel to Europe, it is very important to determine the time and place of travel, because it will directly affect the country where you apply for a Schengen visa.

If you want to go to several countries at a time, the country where you submit your visa application will be your main place to visit, that is, the country where you stay the longest. If you stay in these countries for the same time, then apply for the first entry country.

The three countries I went to Europe this time were France, Italy and Greece. I stayed in Italy for the longest time, four days, France and Greece for three days each, which decided that I could only apply for an Italian visa.

Step 2 book transportation and accommodation

After determining the travel time, we will start to buy air tickets and book hotels. Air tickets are usually booked in advance, and once booked, they cannot be cancelled, so you must make sure your travel plan before this step.

Step 3 make an appointment for a visa

Italy has four visa centers in Britain, in London, Manchester, Cardiff and Edinburgh. It is worth noting that friends living in northern, eastern, central and southern England and North Wales can submit visa materials at any visa center in London, Manchester or Cardiff, while students from Scotland and Northern Ireland must apply in Edinburgh.

Generally, you have to apply for a visa in London one month in advance, especially in the peak season, when there are many people. When I hand it in in Cardiff, I will finish it one week in advance. If a friend who is in a hurry can't make an appointment in London, consider making an appointment in Manchester City or Cardiff.

4. Fill in the form online

When booking a visa, you must first register an account, then choose a visa center to apply, and then choose a convenient time for you. The last step is to fill in the online form. It should be noted that this form is one of the important application materials. When filling in, it must be consistent with the facts, such as travel date, hotel information, etc., and pay attention to passport information and previous Schengen visa information.

5. Materials required for visa

Passport: Passport must have at least two blank pages, and exit visas are not allowed within 3 months before the expiration of the British visa;

Passport photo: passport photo must be a certificate photo within 6 months;

Application Form: Just fill in the application form when making an online appointment and print it out directly. It should be noted that some visa centers do not accept handwritten forms, so it is best for students applying for insurance to print them directly from the Internet.

Read the certificate: Pay attention when you go to school to open the certificate. When applying for an Italian visa, you must write "Italian Consulate General" at the beginning of the letter.

London ",going to Manchester City or Cardiff to sign is also written in London. If you want to go to Edinburgh to sign a contract, write "consult the Italian general in Edinburgh";

Bank bill: the bill should show the account situation for three months and be issued within one month from the delivery time. For the sake of safety, be sure to send out a current.

An account, not a savings account.

The balance should cover the expenses in Europe. Italy is calculated at 30 pounds a day. For students who have just arrived in Britain, if they have not opened an account for three months, they can go to the bank to explain the situation and let them open a bank letter;

Travel insurance: the most convenient way to buy is to go to the post office, which must cover the planned travel time. If you plan to go to Europe many times, students can directly buy insurance valid for one year, about 50 pounds;

Transportation information: all transportation reservation information required for travel must be provided, including air tickets, train tickets or ship tickets. It is important to note that all printed traffic information must have a URL link of the scheduled website, and it must not be the URL of the email but the URL of the original scheduled website;

Accommodation information: just print out the confirmation page booked online, pay attention to cover it every day, and also have a URL link when printing it out. Usually, the confirmation page printed in booking.com or hotel will automatically print out the URL;

Cost: The unified fee for Schengen visa is 50 pounds, the service fee is 26.8 pounds, and the mailing fee is 7.4 pounds, totaling 85.4 pounds. Note: Cardiff Visa Center does not accept cash;

It will be more convenient for students to print out the letter of appointment.

6. After signing.

After students hand in their visas, the visa center will send you a short message in time to tell you that the materials have been accepted. After signing, you will be reminded by email and SMS that your passport has been sent. Usually, you can get your passport within a week.
