What is cognitive impairment?

Cognitive impairment is one of the core symptoms of schizophrenia, including:

(1) Attention disorders, such as auditory and visual attention disorders, attention dispersion, attention concentration and transfer disorders, selective attention disorders and decreased arousal;

(2) Memory disorder, including instantaneous memory, short-term memory and long-term memory disorder;

(3) Impairment of working memory, such as verbal working memory and visual space working memory;

(4) Obstacles in abstract thinking, such as obstacles in concept classification and generalization, obstacles in association (judgment and reasoning), obstacles in decision-making ability to solve problems, especially obstacles in executive function;

(5) Information integration obstacles, which can not make full use of the existing knowledge to shorten the information processing process, such as visual-auditory comprehensive obstacles, visual-motor comprehensive obstacles, etc.
