Ruiying Temple, the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Northeast China, is the oriental center of Tibetan Buddhist culture.

Tibet is a sacred place for every traveler. Potala Palace is a landmark building there, which occupies a place in every traveler's heart. There is also a fascinating mystery about Tibetan Buddhism that originated here.

In Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County, Fuxin City, there is such an ancient temple, which is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Northeast China and is called Little Potala Palace. Although there is no magical scenery in Tibet, it is enough to feel the Zen sound like Tibet.

Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County, as its name implies, is a place where Mongolian people live in compact communities. But strangely, here, the famous historical sites are all related to Tibetan Buddhism. Haitang Mountain and Ruiying Temple ... What's going on?

It turns out that when the Mongols marched into the Central Plains, the Mongolian royal family began to believe in Tibetan Buddhism, which was the most influential religion in the Yuan Dynasty. After the collapse of the Yuan Dynasty, the Mongols returned to their hometown, but Tibetan Buddhism took root among the Mongols. By the Qing Dynasty, the status of the Mongolian royal family was increasingly prosperous, and the influence of Tibetan Buddhism was also growing, so there were many remains of Tibetan Buddhism in places where Mongolians lived in compact communities. Ruiying Temple came into being at this time.

Ruiying Temple, located in Foshan Village, Foshan Town, Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County, Liaoning Province, is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in northeast China and eastern Mongolia, and also the eastern center of Tibetan Buddhist culture.

Ruiying Temple was founded in A.D. 1669, belonging to the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, with a history of more than 350 years.

Ruiying Temple, modeled after Potala Palace in Tibet, took 35 years to take shape. Emperor Kangxi personally named the temple Ruiying Temple and gave it a large plaque carved in Manchu, Mongolian, Tibetan and Chinese.

During the Daoguang period, Ruiying Temple reached its peak. It was one of the eight temples at that time, covering an area of 18 square kilometers, with 97 temples and more than 3,000 houses, and was known as the "Little Potala Palace".

At that time, to what extent did Ruiying Temple flourish? There is a saying-the famous Lama is 3.6 thousand, and the unknown Lama is the best. At every major dharma meeting, bells and drums chime, and the sound of scripture is endless, and the whole people pray.

With the approval of Daoguang, Ruiying Temple has become the only special temple in Northeast China and East Mongolia that enjoys the privilege of "integration of politics and religion". In this respect, it has become the religious and cultural center in the northeast of China and has the reputation of "Oriental Tibet".

Daxiong Hall, also called Dajingtang, is the original ancient building of Ruiying Temple and the central hall of the whole temple.

Dajingtang is a typical representative of Tibetan architecture. In the center of the front of the Ursa Major Hall, stands a gold-plated Falun of Tibetan Buddhism cast in bronze, with Jin Lu made of gold on both sides, facing each other.

The main entrance of the main hall is hung with a large plaque of Ruiying Hall given by the emperor.

The hall is dedicated to the founder of Sakyamuni, Master Zong Kaba, Maitreya Buddha, Manjushri Bodhisattva and Guanyin Bodhisattva, all of which are seven-foot-high bronze gilded statues.

The School of Philosophy, also known as Sanite Zacang, was founded in A.D. 1765 and was later destroyed. It was rebuilt in 2006. It is a pure wooden structure, with two main floors and four local floors. It is the largest Tibetan building in Northeast China at present.

Sanite Zacang is an institution that studies philosophy, classics and righteousness, where monks study Tibetan and scriptures.

The main Buddha of Sanite Zacang is a bronze gilded Maitreya Buddha, with a height of13m, surrounded by thousands of Manjusri Bodhisattvas, as well as gilded bronze statues of Master Zong Kaba, the pharmacist Buddha and Guanyin Bodhisattva.

On the west side of Daxiong Hall, there is a magnificent five-story Tibetan Buddhist temple, namely Changshou Hall, also known as yanshou temple or Dedan Queling.

Changshoutang is a combination of Tibetan and Chinese architecture. Longevity Hall is dedicated to bronze-cast gilded longevity Buddha. The statue is 20 meters high, flanked by the Buddha Mother, the Buddha statue of White Tara and the 1000 longevity Buddha with a height of 0.5 meters.

There are eight Tathagata pagodas outside Shanmen Temple to commemorate the eight virtues of Sakyamuni Buddha, so it is also called the Eight Pagodas of Good Men.
