Someone sends me text messages threatening me, what should I do?

If someone you don’t know sends this text message, you can ignore it. If it is someone you know and the content is indeed related to personal safety and property safety, you can call the police to the local public security department.

According to Article 22 of the "Regulations on Public Security Administration and Punishment of the People's Republic of China", anyone who commits any of the following acts that infringes on the personal rights of others, which is not sufficient for criminal punishment, shall be detained for not more than 15 days and detained for not more than 2 days. Fines or warnings of less than 100 yuan:

(1) Beating others, causing minor injuries;

(2) Illegal restricting others' personal freedom or illegally intruding into other people's homes;

(3) Publicly insulting others or fabricating facts to slander others;

(4) Abusing family members, and the abused person asks for treatment;

(5) Writing threats Believe or use other methods to threaten the safety of others or interfere with the normal life of others;

(6) Coerce or trick people under the age of 18 into performing horrific or cruel programs, destroying their physical and mental health;

(7) Concealing, destroying or privately opening other people’s mails and telegrams.
