Can I call the police for harassment via phone calls and text messages?

Phone and text message harassment can be reported to the police. According to Article 42 of the Public Security Punishment Law, anyone who commits any of the following acts shall be detained for not more than five days or fined not more than 500 yuan; if the circumstances are more serious, he shall be fined not more than 500 yuan. Detention for not less than 10 days but not more than 10 days, and a fine of not more than 500 yuan may be imposed:

(1) Anyone who writes threatening letters or threatens the personal safety of others by other means;

(5) More than Sending obscene, insulting, intimidating or other information to interfere with the normal life of others;

(6) Peeping, secretly filming, eavesdropping, or disseminating other people's privacy.
