Will the family be informed of the trial result?

Legal analysis: Family members will be informed. After the people's court makes a judgment, it shall, within five days, serve the judgment on the people's procuratorate, the parties and their legal representatives, defenders and agents ad litem, or on the close relatives of the defendant. At the same time, before the criminal suspect is sentenced, the public security organ shall notify the family members of the detained person within 24 hours after taking detention or arrest measures against the criminal suspect.

Legal basis: Judgments announced in Article 202 of the Criminal Procedure Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) shall be conducted in public. If a verdict is pronounced in court, it shall be served on the parties concerned and the people's procuratorate that initiated the public prosecution within five days; If the sentence is pronounced on a regular basis, it shall be served on the parties concerned and the people's procuratorate that initiated the public prosecution immediately after the announcement. The written judgment shall be served on the defender and the agent ad litem.
