What to do if you are threatened by an intermediary

Intimidation and threats are threats to others with matters such as harming other people's rights or public interests, causing others to feel fear and panic. If the consequences of intimidation and threats are serious, you can consider calling the police. The public security organs can take administrative detention measures against the other party in accordance with the provisions of the Public Security Management Punishment Law. In serious cases, the other party will be held criminally responsible for the crime of picking quarrels and provoking trouble. Intimidation and threats refer to the behavior of the perpetrator threatening the person being intimidated or close relatives by committing certain dangerous behaviors in the future. Intimidation and threats violate the Public Security Administration Punishment Law and strictly constitute a criminal offence.
According to relevant regulations, anyone who commits any of the following acts shall be detained for not more than five days or fined not more than 500 yuan; if the circumstances are more serious, he shall be detained for not less than five days but not more than 10 days, and may also be fined not more than 500 yuan. The following fines apply:
(1) Writing threatening letters or threatening others’ personal safety in other ways;
(2) Blatantly insulting others or fabricating facts to slander others;
(3) Fabricating facts and falsely accusing others in an attempt to subject others to criminal prosecution or public security penalties;
(4) Threatening, insulting, beating or retaliating against witnesses and their close relatives
(5) Repeatedly sending obscene, insulting, threatening or other information, interfering with the normal life of others;
(6) Peeping, secretly filming, eavesdropping, or spreading other people's privacy .
Article 293 of the "Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China" Whoever commits any of the following acts of provocation and disturbing social order shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years, criminal detention or surveillance:

(1) Beating others at will, the circumstances are egregious;
(2) Chasing, intercepting, insulting, and intimidating others, the circumstances are egregious;
(3) Rape Taking force or arbitrarily damaging or occupying public or private property, the circumstances are serious;
(4) Making trouble in public places, causing serious disorder in public places.
Whoever gathers others to commit the acts mentioned in the preceding paragraph multiple times and seriously disrupts social order shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than five years but not more than ten years, and may also be fined.
