In the Jiulongmiao Provincial Forest Park in Luocheng Town, Wanzai County, Jiangxi Province, for several kilometers along both sides of the road, there are some buildings with red bricks and blue tiles. These are the original Yichun No. 1 Engineering Machinery Factory site. This is a military factory from the third-line era, with the military code name 9446, specializing in the production of 14.5 mm caliber and 12.7 mm caliber anti-aircraft machine guns.

Yichun No. 1 Construction Machinery Factory was founded in 1964 with a planned investment of 13 million yuan. The construction scale will produce 100 14.5 mm caliber anti-aircraft machine guns and 500 12.7 mm caliber anti-aircraft machine guns per year. Although it was a small third-tier military factory, it was built by the Shanghai Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Bureau at that time. The basic construction was completed between 1965 and 1966 as required. In addition to the factory with more than 30,000 square meters, related living areas also had to be built.

After all conditions were met, it was completed and put into production in 1969. It has completed the national plan for 14 consecutive years and achieved profitability every year. It can be said that the 1970s was the most prosperous and lively period of the factory. The living area of ??the factory, which stretched for several kilometers, was bustling with activity. During the day, the loudspeakers kept blasting and the workers were busy. At night, the factory area is brightly lit, and the cinema is crowded. At its peak, there were more than 3,000 employees, and the number of family members exceeded 10,000, turning a remote and deserted mountain village into a prosperous place.

When the factory’s efficiency is good, the lives of its employees are also good. During the Chinese New Year and holidays, the factory will prepare many daily necessities and distribute them to employees for free. The houses are divided into separate houses, and the gas water heaters, gas stoves, and electric fans at home are all powered by luncheon meat, sugar, tea, baskets of apples, racks of frozen meat, carts of hairtail, and boxes of hairtail. Local specialties from all over the country are distributed to employees as benefits; on weekends, with the departure of shuttle buses, there is an endless stream of people going into the city to shop.

In the 1980s, with the decrease in military product orders, companies were forced to convert military products into civilian products. But unlike the fate of most third-tier factories, the transformation of Factory 9446 was very successful. In the field of petroleum energy, it develops and produces hydraulic torque converters and tri-cone drill bits, and has now become one of the four largest drill bit manufacturers in the country in the oil drilling industry. By 1987, the company had to relocate to Yichun City in order to develop. The old factories and residential areas in Kowloon that stretch for several kilometers have all been handed over to the local government intact.

After the relocation of the No. 1 Machinery Factory, some of the old factory buildings left over from previous years were reused by local private enterprises and developed into scenic spots focusing on rafting. More of them become breeding farms for local villagers, which can be regarded as secondary use. Although some tall and wide factories on the roadside are no longer in use and are somewhat dilapidated, they still retain the momentum of the past.

Walking along the smooth asphalt road, some buildings with red bricks and blue tiles are distributed high and low on both sides of the road. These houses are the living areas of the machinery factory, including factory dormitories, children's schools, and shops. , movie theaters, etc. Nowadays, the houses in the living area are seriously damaged and most of them are in an abandoned state. It has been uninhabited and uncared for all year round, and some houses have been buried by dense forests of weeds.
