Seeking the feeling of visiting the Red Mansion of Peking University

In the north of Wu Si Street, Dongcheng District, a five-story old red brick building built in 19 18 stands quietly in the noisy street. The librarian's office is the place where Li Dazhao worked when he was the librarian of Peking University. Li Dazhao transformed Peking University Library from an old library building into a modern university library. The second reading room is the place where Mao Zedong once worked when he was young. Every day, Mao Zedong registers the names of new newspapers and readers in the second reading room, and manages more than 15 Chinese and foreign newspapers. During his work here, Mao Zedong made extensive friends with Chen Duxiu, Li Dazhao, Hu Shi and other important figures in the New Culture Movement. Under the influence of Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu and others, Mao Zedong abandoned the original anarchism and established Marxist belief through exploration.

Xinchao Club is a student association established by Peking University students, Luo Jialun, Xu and others under the influence of progressive thoughts. As an earlier student publication in Peking University, Trendy Magazine was supported by President Cai Yuanpei and Chen Duxiu, a senior liberal arts student. Professor Hu Shi served as a consultant, Li Dazhao provided the venue in the library, and Cai Yuanpei wrote the title himself. On the eve of the May 4th Movement, Peking University students produced 3,000 flags and slogans in the trendy club under the leadership of the trendy club. The restored site of Xinchao Society is a scene on the eve of the May 4th Movement, which was shot according to the memoirs of Luo Jialun and other people and the photos of the May 4th student parade. The word "Xinchao" and the articles of association of Xinchao Society are hung on the wall of the activity room. The special exhibitions of Cai Yuanpei and Chen Duxiu showed their historical achievements and distinctive personality characteristics, which enabled the audience to have a deeper understanding of these two important figures in the May 4th New Culture Movement.

After opening, the new culture movement memorial hall can be visited for free, but it can only accommodate 200 people at a time. The staff at the gate said that there are currently three or four hundred people visiting the museum every day, including many young people.
