Scientific Research Achievements of Forestry College of Guizhou University

Since the forestry department was established in 1958, it has achieved fruitful results through the arduous efforts of several generations of teachers, and has a certain position in the forestry industry in China. He has undertaken 22 national natural science foundation projects, national key basic theory research (973) projects, national science and technology research projects, national science and technology support plan projects, 1 national science and technology achievement transformation fund project, 45 national forestry administration projects, key projects of the Ministry of Education, China Academy of Sciences' "Light in the West" projects, key science and technology research projects and major projects in Guizhou Province, 2 projects of Guizhou Governor Fund, Guizhou Excellent Talents Fund and Guizhou Natural Science Fund, and scientific and technological achievements in Guizhou Province. There are 7 projects of WWF and Ford Foundation. He presided over 1 multi-disciplinary scientific investigations in large nature reserves, 5 major projects of the Provincial Forestry Department and 113 projects of * * *. He won 3 second and 3 third prizes for national scientific and technological progress, 2 first prizes, 17 second prizes and 27 third prizes for provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress, 1 fourth prizes, 1 chinese society of forestry Liangxi Award, 2 second prizes and 1 third prize for Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Award (the highest science and technology award in forestry industry) in chinese society of forestry, and many awards from provincial, prefectural and municipal governments and various industries. The achievements cover a wide range, mainly including the following aspects:

(1) Study on the cultivation of plantation in southern mountainous areas. Aiming at the main timber tree species such as Pinus massoniana, Cunninghamia lanceolata, Pinus armandii and Phyllostachys pubescens in southern mountainous areas, and the economic forest tree species such as Camellia oleifera, Tung oil tree, Rhus verniciflua, Eucommia ulmoides and Galla chinensis, a systematic study was carried out around the breeding of improved varieties, fast growth and high yield, management and pest control. Especially for the study of Pinus massoniana, ten southern provinces (regions) have been organized to tackle key problems together, based on the Guizhou Plateau and facing the southern mountainous areas, and the application of basic and practical technology research has combined to form an applicable technical system for fast-growing and high-yielding Pinus massoniana universal timber (special timber) forest, formulated the Chinese People's Professional Standard-Fast-growing and High-yielding Pinus massoniana Forest, and published Pinus massoniana in China and Pinus massoniana Pulp Timber Forest Cultivation. In the research of forest site classification, according to the characteristics of southern mountains, the site classification method of geology and geomorphology was put forward, which made a breakthrough and was widely used, and had great influence in China. The research achievements in this field won 3 second prizes, 1 third prize, 1 first prize at provincial and ministerial level, 13 second prizes, 22 third prizes, 1 Liang Xi prize in chinese society of forestry and 1 second prize in Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Award. With the support of these achievements, the discipline of forest cultivation has become a key discipline in Guizhou Province, and it has been granted the right of doctoral degree.

(2) Study on the theory and technology of restoration and reconstruction of degraded karst forest. Aiming at the problem of karst vegetation degradation and rocky desertification, the theory and technology of restoration and reconstruction of degraded vegetation are systematically studied. Since the early 198s, the characteristics of karst ecological environment, the distribution, types, structure, functions, productivity and dynamics of karst forests have been systematically studied, especially the ecological process of natural restoration of degraded ecosystems and the management of karst forests. Published three collections of essays "Study on Karst Forest Ecology". Aiming at Huajiang area, where the rocky desertification is the most serious in Guizhou Province, comprehensive control research is carried out around the development and utilization of water resources, water-saving agriculture, restoration and reconstruction of degraded forests, comprehensive prevention and control of rocky desertification, returning farmland to forests and grasslands, and development and utilization of characteristic biological resources, and Huajiang "eco-economic control of rocky desertification in karst plateau" demonstration area is built, which provides important scientific basis and technical support for the control of karst rocky desertification in southwest China. The above research results won the second prize of Guizhou Science and Technology Progress Award, the third prize, and the second prize of chinese society of forestry Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Award, which provided important support for the construction of doctoral programs in forest cultivation and master programs in ecology.

(3) Study on the construction of shelter forest system. Aiming at the problem of soil erosion in Wujiang River Basin in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the theory and technology of water source forest and water conservation forest construction were systematically studied, and the key scientific and technological research topics of the seventh, eighth and ninth five-year plans were successively undertaken. The regional differentiation law of Wujiang River Basin, the site classification system of shelter forest, the evaluation method, the present situation and law of soil erosion in Wujiang River Basin, the function of vegetation-soil system to conserve water, the division of shelter forest in Wujiang River Basin, the classification of forest species, and the evaluation method were studied.

(4) Investigation of nature reserves and research on biodiversity and species protection. Since 198s, he has presided over and organized 14-2 experts and scholars from different disciplines to conduct large-scale scientific investigations on more than 1 nature reserves in Guizhou, including Maolan, Fanjing Mountain, Xishui, Chishui, Leigong Mountain, Kuankwashui, Foding Mountain, Zhujiashan, Baiqing, Dasha River and cloak hill. More than 1 collections of essays, such as Scientific Investigation Collection of Maolan Karst Forest, Scientific Investigation Collection of Leigongshan Nature Reserve and Comprehensive Scientific Investigation Collection of Kuankuoshui Nature Reserve, have been published, which has become an important technical support for national nature reserves, man and biosphere reserves, karst world natural heritage declaration in southern China and nature reserve planning in Guizhou Province. It has contributed to the development of nature conservation in Guizhou Province and enjoys a high reputation in China. In view of the rich animal and plant resources in Guizhou, combined with the investigation of nature reserves, the biodiversity, its environmental background and rare and endangered organisms were studied, and the monograph Guizhou Forest was edited, and the compilation of China Forest (deputy editor), Guizhou Flora and Guizhou Fauna were participated, and the fifth volume of Guizhou Flora was edited. Established the largest tree specimen room in Guizhou Province. The above research results were awarded 2 third prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 first prize of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress award, 3 second prizes, 4 third prizes, 1 fourth prize, and 1 third prize of chinese society of forestry Liang Xi Science and Technology Progress Award.

(5) social forestry research. In view of the main collective forest areas in southern China, especially the collective forest areas in Guizhou, community forestry investigation and research were carried out, and projects funded by the Ford Foundation of the United States, the World Wide Fund for Nature and other institutions were undertaken. Six monographs, including Conflict and Conflict Management and Conflict Management: A New Concept of Forest Resource Management, were published, which provided a basis for the current forest right reform and had a certain impact both inside and outside the province.

Teachers of Forestry College have traveled all over Guizhou, and accomplished their scientific research tasks with great achievements. It not only promoted the teaching and improved the teaching level, but also accelerated the combination of "production, learning and research", which contributed to the forestry development and ecological environment construction in China. At the same time, it also trained talents and increased the influence and popularity of Forestry College in China forestry industry.
