Four major steel mills in China in 1980s.

In 1980s, the four major iron and steel companies in China were Baosteel in Shanghai, Angang in Liaoning, Shougang in Beijing and WISCO in Hubei. Others are the second echelon and the third and fourth lower echelons, such as TISCO, Maanshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., Baotou Steel Co., Ltd., Benxi Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., Tangshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. and Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., which together form the "Top Ten Steels" in China. There are also some local key enterprises, known as the "Ten Little Dragons", such as Handan Iron and Steel, Jigang, Anyang Iron and Steel, Kunming Iron and Steel, Hangzhou Iron and Steel, Meigang, Tiangang, Shanghai Steel No.3 Plant and No.5 Plant.
