It has developed comprehensively in neurological rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. It has achieved gratifying results in medicine, teaching and research. It is in the leading position in sports trauma and orthopedic rehabilitation. Domestic leading position. The clinical work of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine continues to develop, and the number of outpatient visits has increased year by year from 6,996 in 2003 to 13,053 in 2007. The number of outpatient treatments has also continued to increase, reaching 177,437 in 2007, with an average of 683 daily treatments, ranking among the best among the rehabilitation medicine departments of major hospitals in Beijing. In order to meet the needs of the continuous development of the discipline, the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine was established in Northern Hospital on February 21, 2004. It has 12 beds and is in the same nursing unit as the General Surgery Department of Anorectal Surgery. Due to good treatment results, the beds could not meet the needs of patients. On August 16 of that year, the hospital beds were expanded to 20 beds, and then expanded to 28 beds on October 8. The bed utilization rate has been above 100%, and some rehabilitation operations have been started. On February 16, 2005, the ward nursing unit of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine became independent and successfully carried out bladder function reconstruction for patients with complete spinal cord injury, marking that the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is at the leading level in the country in this project. On February 19, 2007, the rehabilitation ward was successfully moved into the Central Party School campus and expanded from 20 to 32 beds on June 1 of the same year. The number of patients discharged from the ward is increasing year by year. The bed utilization rate and average length of stay have exceeded the hospital's indicators over the years. The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is responsible for the teaching tasks of rehabilitation medicine for junior college students, undergraduates, clinical undergraduates and seven-year and eight-year students in the School of Nursing of Peking University Health Science Center. Among them, the Nursing College of Peking University has enrolled students and established a rehabilitation medicine course since 1996, and has trained more than 1,280 students. The undergraduate nursing program at Peking University has offered rehabilitation medicine courses since 1996, and has trained 344 students. The teaching tasks of rehabilitation medicine courses started in 2000 for the seven-year clinical program of Peking University and in 2001 for the eight-year clinical program.
