However, many primary and middle school students in this city lack traffic safety awareness and self-protection ability when they participate in traffic activities every year, which eventually leads to accidents. According to statistics, from October to July this year, there were 5,349 road traffic accidents in this city, resulting in 753 deaths, 5/0/68 injuries and economic losses of 48.03 million yuan. Some of them are traffic accidents of primary and secondary school students. For example, there was a student traffic accident with two deaths and one injury in this city. Three students were crossing the road from north to south near Lane 803 of Song Bin Road in this city when they were hit by the left front corner of a passing bus. Two of them were run over by the left front wheel of the bus and died on the spot. Another student narrowly escaped and was seriously injured.

In view of the characteristics and trends of traffic accidents among primary and secondary school students and preschool children, in order to implement the spirit of "traffic safety starts from childhood" and combine the current traffic publicity and rectification activities of "improving the law-abiding rate of pedestrians and cyclists" in our city, we will continue to promote traffic safety publicity and education into primary and secondary schools in our area, and widely advocate primary and secondary school students to consciously develop good habits of observing traffic safety laws. Therefore, public security traffic management departments and schools should join hands to strengthen traffic safety education and traffic accident prevention publicity for primary and secondary school students in this area, and constantly improve their traffic law awareness and self-protection ability.
