Article 17 The people's procuratorate may, according to the needs of procuratorial work, set up procuratorial offices in prisons, detention centers and other places to exercise part of the functions and powers assigned by the people's procuratorate, or conduct patrol inspections in the above places. The establishment of a procuratorial office by a people's procuratorate at the provincial level shall be subject to the consent of the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the relevant departments at the provincial level. The establishment of procuratorial offices by municipal people's procuratorates with districts and grass-roots people's procuratorates shall be subject to the consent of the provincial people's procuratorates and relevant provincial departments.

Article 28 A people's procuratorate may handle a case by a single prosecutor or by a case-handling team composed of two or more prosecutors. If the case is handled by the prosecutor's case-handling team, the procurator-general shall designate a prosecutor as the presiding prosecutor to organize and direct the case-handling team to handle the case.

Article 48 People's procuratorates shall take necessary measures to safeguard the safety of handling cases. For illegal and criminal acts that hinder the people's procuratorate from exercising its functions and powers according to law, legal responsibility shall be investigated according to law.
