How many Western capitals can one live in—notes of the Shaanxi Station of the Humanities Reading Club (full)

Last autumn, I participated in the Shangcai Public Management Humanities Reading Club and went to Xi'an and Hanzhong. The ancient capitals of Xi'an and Hanzhong in southern Shaanxi are both famous historical and cultural cities, but their styles are completely different. A group of wealthy people who love reading came to get together. They traveled between the two cities to visit historical sites, and even specially chose the ancient city of Hanzhong to exchange their reading experiences. It was clearly a sense of searching for their roots.

I have participated in the Humanities Reading Club twice. I prepare carefully every time and gain more during the exchange. It is the cross-field experience, thinking and interesting explorations of the alumni that bring a mental impact to my mind. It can obtain the essence of the same spectrum of information in different languages, and also has the opportunity to meet reliable alumni full of goodwill.

Hanzhong stands at the pass of the Qinling Mountains. The air is moist and soft, and the climate is similar to Sichuan, the "Land of Abundance". The southern country is rich in products. Combining the natural treasures of Sanqin and Shu, this may be the material source of her reputation as "the hometown of the Han people".

This place has its name as early as the Western Zhou Dynasty. Mostly because of its land of plenty and geographical location, it has always been an important place for military strategists. From the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period to the Qin, Han and Three Kingdoms periods, it appeared frequently. Especially the old events of Shu and Han in the Three Kingdoms made it a household name.

If Hanzhong can be regarded as a back garden, then the ancient capital north of Qinling Mountains is obviously a magnificent hall. The traces of the Han and Tang Dynasties can still be vaguely seen in outline, but they are not like the "Zhenbri Hao Capital" (Hao Jing is the capital of the Western Zhou Dynasty, borrowed from Chang'an) as people said in the Five Dynasties. It's impressive" (Preface to "The Legacy of Kaiyuan Tianbao").

This ancient capital also has the longest towering city wall, a thousand-year-old temple and a giant museum with ancient buildings. Wandering around there is unique. If you are familiar with old books such as "Miscellaneous Notes on Two Capitals" or "Chengfang Kao on Two Capitals in the Tang Dynasty", then the ruins of its streets, alleys, shrines and temples are worth wandering around and caressing.

Ancient Chang'an nourished the spiritual home of the Chinese people with its magnificent appearance and wonderful humanistic nutrients. The regulations of Chang'an also traveled eastward to Fuso and became the blueprint for the construction of Heijo Kyo (Nara) in the Nara period. Later, the Heian Dynasty The planning for the western part of Heian Kyo (Kyoto) also referred to the Saikyo Castle.

It is a pity that the western part of Kyoto is poorly constructed, but the part on the other side of the city that was borrowed from the eastern capital Luoyang was built. Therefore, Kyoto was called "Luoyang" in ancient times, and nobles who went to Heianjing to meet the emperor were also called "Shangluo".

Today, Xi'an's economy and culture have become outstanding in the west, and it is a typical modern city. In addition to the dazzling places of interest, the Shaanxi History Museum and Xi'an Forest of Steles are places not to be missed. Every detail is worth reading and the cultural atmosphere is profound.

There are several famous temples around Xi'an and even in the busy city. They are not obvious, but there is also a famous temple with a history of nearly two thousand years - Daxingshan Temple, the ancestral hall of Tantric Buddhism.

Just like when I went to Taiwan with the Humanities Reading Club the year before last, I spent a whole day looking at the treasures displayed in the National Palace Museum in Taipei, and then joined the large group that had just arrived. . The trip to Baodao is like the long-awaited "New Year's Eve dinner". It's a pleasure to have delicious food in advance.

I once visited Xi'an during my vacation many years ago and visited all the famous scenic spots. This time I arrived early and invited my college roommate Xin Wei to join me on the trip. He showed me the kindness of a landlord and took me to visit the ancient temple. Although I didn’t have enough time, the tour was eye-opening and I gained a lot.

Our first stop is Daxingshan Temple. It was built in the first year of Taishi (AD 265) of the Western Jin Dynasty (265-317) and was originally named Zunshan Temple. There is a written introduction in the temple. It was renamed during the reign of Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty. Because it is the fifth post of the new city in the same row as the Xuandu Temple, it involves "ninety-five deities", so "it does not want ordinary people to live here, so the temple and the temple are built as a town."

Daxingshan Temple became an important translation site and the birthplace of Tantric Buddhism during the Kaiyuan period of Xuanzong. Ninety years later, Kukai entered the Tang Dynasty to seek Dharma and became a disciple of the Tantric Sect Qingryu Temple. After returning to China, he founded the Shingon Sect. Therefore, Daxingzen Temple, the source of Esoteric Buddhism, also became the ancestral home of the Shingon Sect.

The calligraphy on the plaque on this door comes from Zhao Puchu, which is dignified, smart and extraordinary. His elegant temperament and the charm of Jin and Song Dynasties are the strongest, because they are supported by profound knowledge and temperament.

Zhao Puchu's fine calligraphy works are definitely among the best in the Northern Song Dynasty, so he can be called the most outstanding calligrapher of the last century.

Of course, the reason why Zhao Pulao wrote on the plaque of Daxingshan Temple "Tsoteric Style" was because he was the leader of Chinese Buddhism at that time. This shows that the regulations of Daxingshan Temple are very high.

The central hall of the temple is majestic and the square is wide. There is a plaque with "Five Directions and Five Buddhas" on the main hall, which is unique to Tantric temples; the "Mainxiong Hall" above is naturally also called Zhao. According to the classic standards of the Jin and Song Dynasties, it is handsome and handsome, with flying posture. Where can I find it better than this one? Better plaque.

In the temple, there are halls and statues of Manjusri, Avalokitesvara, Samantabhadra and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, as well as Vairocana Buddha Hall and Vajra Hall, which are very neat.

When we passed a small gate, we saw small oranges dotted on the trees, some falling to the ground. It's almost cold weather, and the orange fruits are full of visual impact. Under the warm sun, I suddenly think of the poem "I don't leave the house when the wine is ripe for three winters, and the cold birds peck all the loquat flowers." That kind of free and easy mood may be most suitable for this ancient city that created the poetry library of the prosperous Tang Dynasty.

Daxingshan Temple is an ancient temple hidden deep in the city. Like Qinglong Temple in Leyouyuan, it experienced the disaster of Tang Wuzong's extermination of Buddhism around 846 AD. The current Daxingshan Temple has been built successively since the early Ming Dynasty, while Qinglong Temple was rebuilt on the site in recent years, with a slightly modern atmosphere.

When visiting Qinglong Temple, I saw the restored model of the ancient temple. The stretched palaces were worthy of being a famous temple in the mid-Tang Dynasty.

At that time, monk Huiguo, a master of Tantric Buddhism, was stationed in the temple. Several famous monks who entered the Tang Dynasty, including Kukai, also sought Dharma here. As a result, Qinglong Temple became famous overseas. There are not many exhibits in the temple now, including the unearthed owl kiss on the roof of the original temple and a unique sample representing the Sanki ramen culture of Kukai's hometown, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan.

The following is a widely circulated poem sent by Emperor Saga to Kukai. What is interesting is that the word "cloud" in the last sentence is both rhythmic and repeated. It is judged that it should be a oblique character.

In the third sentence, it doesn’t matter whether it is one, three or five. In the fourth sentence, the word "wang" is read flat and flat, but the word "cloud" here cannot be flat.

Master Kukai was a literary giant of his generation with profound knowledge. The author studied his "Wen Jing Mi Fu Lun" and saw the quotations at hand. Many of them required looking up information before he could understand them. The skills of foreign scribes are so profound and solid that it is admirable.

In particular, he was most concerned about poetry problems. The book summarizes the language problems of poems and antitheses and compiled them with praise. Kukai also played a major role in introducing poetry and calligraphy to Japan. It is said that after returning to China in 806 AD, he changed all his original ancient Chinese poems into metrical poems.

Emperor Saga is one of the "three safe strokes", and his calligraphy has the charm of Jin people; he is also a top intellectual, and his writing of Chinese poetry is certainly not inferior. Facing Kai Gong (Kukai)'s fragrant tea, his farewell poem would probably follow the meter. It's just that I can't find a reliable original poem for comparison, so I can only leave it alone.

It was almost dusk when I came out of the ancient temple. Xinwei sent me straight to the meeting point of the large army. Visiting Xi'an in one day was all thanks to his arrangements and guidance. We talked about interesting things in college and everyone's current situation, and we felt like we were in a different world. The Japanese Edo poet Canglang said, "I gradually feel that the scenery is getting better, and I want to buy wine on credit to buy youth." Looking back on life, who doesn't miss those novel and energetic days.

The epidemic has been raging and unexpected this year, disrupting many plans. We hope to make up for it as soon as possible next year.

Two

Most of the people who participated in this book club have arrived in Xi'an, and the reunion made people feel more cordial. It has been a full year since I left Shanghai before the epidemic. This year, we have faced and experienced this epidemic together in the "Humanities Reading Group", and we look back with mixed feelings.

During our respective "retreats" at the beginning of the year, we paid attention to the sad and happy news, appreciated the bitter humor, discussed many "miraculous doctors" and miracles, and also looked forward to the "people's hope". Whether it’s joy amidst hardship or not, the temporarily dark days always need some bright colors.

I once posted a poem in the group on the day when the dragon raised his head, and now I can read it and feel the state of mind at that time (the rhyme of "Qin"):

I have been in seclusion for a long time,

Hun Wan is worthy of a hairpin in front of her forehead.

One day I will be destined to realize Prajna.

I have no words to say to Jialan this spring.

Three lives will always pass by in a moment,

Ten thousand deaths will inevitably lead to the greed of time.

It’s not a problem with the head.

Why does the black hair go to the chin?

Every time a compatriot is killed, I feel sympathy in my heart. To survive this year, I need to thank many warriors who dare to speak out and take action. I have written a couplet like this: "Taking stock of the brave men of the past year, distinguishing between the two worlds to save money." Life and health should be grateful for their reminders and efforts. This is no exaggeration.

After the disaster, old friends gathered together and started to pay attention to new topics. Current events are changing and the news is endless.

We gathered together with everyone from the Shaanxi Alumni Association to exchange reading experiences in Hanzhong the next day. Xi'an is the ancient capital of more than ten dynasties. It takes more than a month to visit all the cultural sites. We have a long time to come, so enjoy the warm gatherings.

Brother Libin, who is also in Beijing, is a local from Shaanxi, and he also planned the reading activities in Hanzhong. He may be well aware of my obsession with writing and specially arranged for me to write again in front of my classmates. Before leaving, I was specifically told to bring a handy writing brush. Of course, it is better to obey than to be respectful.

The senior brothers and junior sisters helped decorate the study room, and I took out a "Zhao Puchu pen" that was placed in the pen box. Because it has a clean and sharp edge, it is most commonly used, and is equivalent to a soldier carrying a good gun. If you don't write well like this, you can only blame yourself.

I am reminded of the Luoyang wall inscription by Yang Ningshi, a native of Huayin, Shaanxi during the Five Dynasties, which won Li Jianzhong's tribute from the Northern Song Dynasty. A magnificent story that has been passed down through the ages. So I wrote down this quatrain of Li Jianzhong and asked for your corrections:

Withered fir trees are falling and the cypress trees are old, the frost is old, the pines are smokey, the musk deer coals are cloudy and the rain is cold.

I am also a bibliophile by birth, and I read every time I go to the temple.

When I was writing, Libin and another senior brother were joking around, and that was also his childhood. There is a unique sense of comfort in old friendships in life. I am fully aware of its beauty, and it is difficult to laugh while writing.

Three

Only when crossing the Qinling Mountains and standing on the streets of Hanzhong did I suddenly realize that I had landed on the Loess Plateau. Although we are in southern Shaanxi, the sounds of Sichuan can be heard here, and the scent of peppercorns seems to appear in the air during meal time.

Cloudy and wet. In the late Qing Dynasty, Zheng Zhen's poem "Welcoming Autumn is dark with rain, and there are many Shushan Mountains on the other side" is looking north from Maotai Town, Kweichow, and we are now in frosty autumn. These two sentences are equally appropriate for Hanzhong, which is close to the Han River and Nanping Bashan.

After settling in, everyone hurriedly sat around for a meal. There were also alumni who participated in this event for the first time. The new acquaintances exchanged pleasantries and it was like meeting old friends. We were all classmates who studied in Shanghai many years ago. We had the same teachers and campus, and we also had several precious years of youth.

After graduation, each of us has entered a new life. It is rare to find such a kind and trustworthy group when we look back. In particular, the reading club travels all over the world, opens and closes in various places, and changes scenery as you move, making people immersed in multiple themed gatherings with real and innovative ideas.

In the past few years, wherever I have traveled thousands of miles and read thousands of books, I will never forget the joy of gathering and communicating with local alumni. This is all due to the dedicated arrangements made by the president, Brother Wei Ming and Senior Sister Yong Mei. Every time there are countless things to do, looking back at the sacrifices and sacrifices made, it is very touching.

Reading books is a happy thing, but it is rare to communicate with like-minded people.

Chen Jiru, a scholar in the late Ming Dynasty, has a passage in "Shubi" that says: "I and one or two comrades, leaning against each other among the long pines and chaotic clouds. Playing the flute and piano, cooking tea and spreading scrolls." These are the four The transcendent scene of Songjiang in Shanghai a hundred years ago is probably the inner wish of those who love reading. Listening and enjoying it freely is like a gathering, and there seems to be something missing from a gathering.

If you read purely based on your interest, you will be afraid of being stuck in one corner. If you read casual books as planned, you will lose your interest. However, if you capture the highlights of other people’s wisdom in such exchanges, you will be able to chew on them again and again, and you will benefit the most. Putting more history, business, technology, literature, and philosophy in our think tanks will make us more sensitive, calm, and more humble towards knowledge.

Brother Wei Ming said, "Being an economic person is more important than being a cultural person." By exploring new knowledge with compassion, economic man can become a sincere cultural person.

The alumni of this exchange have come up with great ideas. There are Huanghuang's masterpieces that they participated in writing, there are classic Western history, literature and financial classics, there are tomes with rich humanistic charm of Sanqin, and there are also alumni. A dazzling collection of newly published essays.

Four

In preparation for this trip to Shaanxi, I specially dug out the "Kaiyuan Tianbao Legacy" (hereinafter referred to as "Kaiyuan Tianbao Legacy" or "Kaiyuan Tianbao Legacy") written by Wang Renyu of the Fifth Dynasty. ). It turned out that I read it because I liked it. The trivial anecdotes of the imperial capital of the prosperous Tang Dynasty were written in a very graphic way, including temples, famous ministers, and ladies and gentlemen from the world.

In particular, Li Bai’s kindness, the love of Xuanzong and his concubine, the prince’s wantonness, and the embarrassing things of Yang Guozhong, Li Linfu and others are all told with a bit of embarrassment, which is very suitable. The appetite of the people through the ages.

Wang Renyu lived from the late Tang Dynasty to the Five Dynasties period, and Kaiyuan Tianbao was the reign name of Xuanzong during the prosperous Tang Dynasty, which was nearly two hundred years apart. In the preface, the author said that in Chang'an, he "inquired about the facts and collected the opinions of the people", and what he recorded "are not included in the previous book". "Although it does not contribute to the moral education, it can also be used as a reference." This was his original intention in writing the book.

Hong Mai of the Southern Song Dynasty unceremoniously listed it as a "shallow book" in "Rong Zhai Essays", which is both shallow and false. He classified this "Kai Tian Yi Shi", "Unzen Sanlu" (also known as "Unzen Miscellaneous Notes") and "Lao Du Facts" as untrue and false works.

Hong Mai was a great miscellaneous scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty. He was erudite and rigorous. This academic style runs through his works. He cited four chronological errors in "The Legacy" and concluded that the book was ridiculous and destructible. It was pretended to be written by Wang Renyu of the Five Dynasties, so he completely rejected it.

But he was also surprised that the "Zi Zhi Tong Jian" written by Sima Guang, a great scholar, also adopted passages from "Su Shi". This at least shows that the book had a great influence, and some of its contents were widely accepted in the Northern Song Dynasty.

Moreover, there are many lively scenes of the prosperous Tang Dynasty in "Legacy", including the interesting stories of Chao Yan and the customs of the streets at that time. This is the charm of this book; even the common idioms used in this book are There are several poems, including Su Shi's poem "Three Poems on the Relics of Kaiyuan Tianbao", which shows that it has many readers among literati.

Books from the Ming Dynasty printed the title of the poem as "The Legacy of Kaitianbao". It is generally referred to as "The Legacy of Kaitian", and the pictures on the right are selected from "Meiji Poetry" and Hong Mai's "Essays of Rong Zhai" in Iwanami Bunko, Japan. Apparently the title of Su's poem was printed incorrectly. It is rare for the problem to appear in such an important thread-bound book.

At the beginning of the Five Dynasties, it was far from the prosperous Tang Dynasty. The stories in the book inevitably come from oral traditions and are somewhat legendary; and the book does not carefully examine the timing of events, which is indeed not rigorous. Therefore, this is not a book of knowledge at all.

But Hong Mai’s blanket denial is also biased. In addition to the relics in "Relics", "Unxian Miscellaneous Notes" contains vivid Tang Dynasty urban life in various books. It can at least be used as a glimpse. It is also interesting to see the figures of distant dynasties.

Therefore, the book "The Legacy of Kaitian" is a sufficient reference. As a widely circulated book in ancient times, it is also valuable to read today.

The content of the book can be divided into several themes. We might as well pick out a few from it to feel the atmosphere of the prosperous Tang Dynasty and taste the perspectives of celebrities from the Five Dynasties.

1. Xuanzong and the imperial concubine

Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty was once in the Bian Palace, especially wanting to discuss matters with his minister Yao Chong. It was raining heavily in July and the ground was muddy. Emperor Ming actually had his chariot carried to pick up Scholar Yao. Hanlin received this honor because Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty was eager to treat his talents, but Wang Renyu said that he had never done anything like this before.

We now talk about Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty who provoked the "Anshi Rebellion", but he treated the officials he admired favorably, recruited talents, and had a flourishing atmosphere. It's a pity that he gradually became lazy and let the vassal town grow bigger, but in the end he couldn't lose his tail, and was counterattacked by the forces that he had coveted for a long time, so that he was finally forced to flee.

Concubine Yang is the protagonist in "Legacy" and has a lot of ink. She has always been plump, but in the bitter heat of summer, she takes a small jade fish in her mouth every day to "cool the body and nourish the lungs". This is a simple tonic therapy; to what extent does she wear makeup? The hot weather made the waiter alternately blow and fan and sweat. What he produced was "red sweat".

The legendary figures in the Tianbao period were most concerned by literati from similar dynasties.

Because beside her is always the walking figure of Emperor Ming.

On one occasion, Emperor Ming played chess with the prince and asked the piano player He Huaizhi to play the pipa while the imperial concubine watched the game. Seeing that the situation suddenly changed and Emperor Ming was about to lose, the imperial concubine actually let out the pug of Kang Juguo in the Western Region, ran to the chessboard and made random moves, making it impossible to distinguish the winner from the loser. Emperor Ming was quite satisfied with this.

2. Famous ministers

On the night of Mid-Autumn Festival one year, the minister Su Ting (Yin Ting) and other bachelors worked the night shift in the ban, preparing a banquet of literary wine and admiring the moon together. The sky was cloudless and the moon was as bright as day. Su Ting said, "The clear light is lovely, why use lamps and candles?" So he took out the lamp.

I imagine the autumn air is crisp and the moon is bright. The palaces in the Forbidden City of the Tang Dynasty are quiet, and the bachelors are having a banquet and admiring the moon. The scene is very elegant.

This reminds people of an interesting story recorded by Song Nao (Yin Luo) in the Qing Dynasty in "Junlang Oubi". When he was out in Huangzhou, he heard that a prostitute at that time was having a drink with the scholars. She raised her wine to the wind and said, "The clouds are so high and refreshing, it can be called poetry!" The prostitute became famous from then on.

This is a good line for chanting things. A glimpse of the scene reaches the vivid place, and then the sentence "poetry" "brings the poetry to the blue sky". The picture and scene blend together, which is quite talented.

Famous officials in Kaitian were well received by Xuanzong. In addition to Yao Chong and Su Ting mentioned above, Zhang Jiuling and Song Jing all had good stories. Xuanzong once gave Prime Minister Song Jing gold chopsticks at the spring banquet, saying: "I am not giving you gold, but chopsticks to commend you for your straightforwardness towards me." prelude.

3. The traitorous minister

Li Linfu was jealous of talents and talents. He often harmed others when he told Xuanzong, so he was nicknamed "Meatloin Sword". He would pretend to be well-intentioned to lure others into revealing their faults, and then go to Xuanzong to set up a trap.

It's not a clever move like this, but it always works. It has developed to the point where people secretly record other people's complaints and even if they are irrelevant, they can then add insult to injury and claim rewards from their superiors. This is a twisted and perverted "culture". If Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty was driving Xi Xing at that time, he would probably grit his teeth and hate it if he thought of those things, but it would be too late to regret it.

Li Linfu contributed the idiom "Honey in mouth, sword in belly". People at that time said that his "sweet words are as sweet as honey", and people in the court reminded each other: "Although this man has a smile on his face, he has a sword in his belly."

What is outrageous is what happened to Yang Guozhong. When he was on a mission to Jiangsu and Zhejiang, his wife missed him so much that she dreamed of having sex with him, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a boy. After Yang Guozhong came back, his wife detailed what happened in the dream. He said, "This is probably because the two of them missed each other too much."

It is said that people at the time also made fun of this incident, but this itself is contrary to common sense. , so it’s all a joke. It is undoubtedly a fabrication by later generations to dispel distaste.

4. Kings

At that time, there was a charming prostitute in Prince Ning’s palace who was very beautiful. Whenever there was a banquet, King Ning would call all the other prostitutes, both vocal and musical, but Sister Chong could not be seen.

Once when he was half-drunk, the poet Li Taibai took advantage of his drunkenness and said: "I have heard for a long time that Sister Chong sings well. Today, everyone is drunk and well-fed, and they are all tired. Prince Ning cannot Will you please come out for everyone to take a look?"

Prince Ning smiled and asked the left and right to arrange the Qibao flower barrier, and asked Sister Chong to sing behind the flower barrier.

When Li Bai heard this, he quickly stood up and thanked him: "Although I am not allowed to see her face, I am lucky to hear her voice!"

King Ning, King Qi, and King Shen are all dandies. King Shen even got drunk and asked the palace prostitutes to make a bag with brocade and carry it back, called "Drunken Yu"; even the "prostitute fence" in the popular online drama to block the wind was King Shen's invention.

King Qi had cold hands in winter and did not go to warm himself by the fire, which was the same as King Shen.

5. Li Bai

The idiom "a wonderful pen produces flowers" comes from here. "Heritage" says that when Li Bai was young, "the pen he used in his dream grew flowers, and he could see them all day long, and he became famous all over the world."

"Theory of Charming Flowers" also comes from here. When Li Bai discussed matters with others, his words were like prepared articles, like "spring flowers and algae, charming under his teeth".

In addition to poetry, Li Bai is also known as the "Drunken Saint". He is addicted to alcohol and informal, but the articles he writes while intoxicated are not wrong; when discussing things with people who are not drunk, what he says is not what Li Bai sees.

This is not drunk, it is clearly an immortal.

Once Li Bai was drafting an edict in the palace, it was cold and snowy, and the tip of his pen froze. Emperor Ming ordered his ten concubines to serve Li Bai. They put the royal pen in the ivory pen tube into their mouths and breathed. This was "beauty blowing the pen".

If the nib of the brush for writing small characters becomes knotted, soak it in cold water and slowly dissolve the nib. If you soak it in warm water, you're afraid of melting it too much, so it's better to use cold water and work slowly.

Smoking it slowly with the hot air from your mouth is like smoking a badminton ball which is evenly heated. This will cause the entire pen edge to soften and spread, making it impossible to write small characters. But after all, manual operation is easier to control, and the pen tip melts earlier, which is also a shortcut.

The key point is that if Li Bai needs to brag, having such a holy family is enough to travel around the world. There is no need to make a fuss about imaging technology like the late Qing Dynasty in later generations.

6. Celebrities and ladies

His name is recorded in the history of Pingkangfang in Chang'an City, and the "Heritage" calls him "Fengliu Ze". Although this is a gold-selling cave, it was also the daily life of scholars in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and was even part of the culture at that time. "A large number of young knights from Kyoto gather here, and new scholars every year visit them with their famous names on red paper." ("Legacy")

This group of young knights from Chang'an at that time called for friends every spring. Friends, each rides a pony, equipped with brocade saddle cushions and gold ruffles, and rides under the flowering trees. The servants brought wine vessels, and when the young knights saw the beautiful palace flowers, they stood on their horses and drank.

They also brought an oil curtain with them during the tour, which was a kind of curtain to keep out the rain. In case of rain, the tent for the banquet is covered with all the facilities.

The ladies of Chang'an competed with flowers in spring, and the one with the most flowers was the winner. Rich people buy famous flowers and plant them in their gardens to prepare for the "spring battle". The suburban banquet that ladies and gentlemen went to on horseback and in carriages after the Lantern Festival was called the "Spring Banquet".

It is said that when they went on a spring outing, they would hang up their red skirts and form a banquet tent when they met famous flowers. Although it sounds unreasonable, it also shows the atmosphere of celebrities in the capital of the prosperous Tang Dynasty.

Speaking of celebrities, there was a scholar named Wang Xiu who lived at the foot of Mount Taibai, the highest peak in the Qinling Mountains. Every winter, crystal clear stream ice is collected to cook tea and drink with guests. How noble this is.

Jianming is a tea from the Jianou area of ??Fujian Province, which was famous in the Tang Dynasty. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Jianzhou Beiyuan's Dragon and Phoenix Tea was formed, which was extremely precious. Ouyang Xiu's "Guitian Lu" records that Cai Xiang made small pieces of dragon tea as tribute, twenty cakes per catty. When Renzong of the Song Dynasty went to the southern suburbs to fast, "Zhongshu and the Privy Council each gave a cake, which was divided among four people. Palace officials often covered it with gold flowers."

A "Kaiyuan Tianbao Legacy" with several thousand words There are many stories, the classical language is not difficult to read, and it can be read as a leisure book. Only one leaf of the autumn light is captured here, and the novel and friendly Tang Dynasty style is still hidden in the book.

If you are interested in the streets and allusions of ancient Chang'an, the people and clothes of the time, and the impressions left by watching movies and TV series, then reading this book is like watching a slideshow, clear and vivid. live.

The next day, we went to Hanzhong Museum. This place used to be the ancient Han Terrace and has many ruins. In addition to the famous Cao Cao's "Gun Xue" (biography), "Jade Basin" and "Stone Tiger", the cliff stone carvings "Shimen Thirteen Products" of Hanzhong Baoxie Ancient Road are also collected here.

The styles of Han Li and Northern Dynasty regular scripts are both quaint, vigorous and vigorous. Coupled with the undulating cliffs and mottled time, the stone carvings present a style that is obviously different from the indulgent and elegant style of Zhang Zhi of the Eastern Han Dynasty.

Bao Xie’s stone carvings were highly praised in Kang Youwei’s “Guangyi Zhou Shuangji” in the late Qing Dynasty. He ranked the “Shimen Inscription” among them as the highest-level divine product, calling it “if There are scattered immortals on Yao Island, and the flying luan spans the crane." Although this expression only highlights its scattered characteristics and is difficult to deduce, it shows its position in Kangfuzi's system of stele studies.

The ancient road is full of stone inscriptions. I specially bought this "Thirteen Products" collection as a souvenir. It is also a very good resource for outlining the overall picture of the Shimen stone inscriptions.

After three days, the Shaanxi leg of the Humanities Reading Club came to an end, and we separated again in the ancient city of southern Shaanxi. My two junior sisters and I formed a small group and headed north first, saying goodbye in Xi'an.

Thousands of books and thousands of miles of road, I have only walked one part of the journey. This event has come to an end for the time being. Looking back at Ningxia and Taiwan, which participated in it, it has lasted nearly two years.

This is a small part of reading and a small part of life.

After returning to Beijing, I was intoxicated by the humanistic atmosphere of the prosperous Tang Dynasty and lamented the decline and changes of that era. Poetry with a sense of ambition, the rhyme of "Geng":

A journey of a thousand miles will live up to the autumn scenery,

How many Western capitals can you enjoy in your life?

Sanlang once followed Yao Jian of the Song Dynasty,

After several towns, there were many soldiers.

Balu was hit by falling snow,

There was a rumor in Youzhou that the city had not yet fallen.

It is a pity that half of the ancient ruins are lost.

Where can I hear the sound of music?
