Types and functions of heat exchangers

? A heat exchanger is a device whose basic purpose is to transfer heat between two fluids. It is usually called a heat exchanger. Heat exchangers are widely used. They are general equipment in chemical industry, oil refining, electric power, atomic energy, light industry, food, pharmacy and machinery manufacturing. There are many classifications of heat exchangers. Let's take a look at the classification and characteristics of heat exchangers!

? 1. floating head heat exchanger: Its advantage is that it can eliminate the temperature difference stress and can work under high temperature and high pressure. Generally, the temperature is less than or equal to 450℃ and the pressure is less than or equal to 6.4 MPa. The tube bundle of heat exchanger can be pulled out and cleaned, which can be used in places where scaling is easy or tube side is easy to corrode. Its disadvantages are complex structure and easy internal leakage of small floating head. The consumption of metal materials is higher than that of ordinary heat exchangers.

2. Tube heat exchanger: Its advantages are low cost and simple and compact structure. Its disadvantage is that the tube bundle can not be cleaned, and there is a large temperature difference stress between the tube wall and the shell wall.

3.u-tube heat exchanger: Its advantages are that the tube bundle can freely expand and contract, there is no thermal stress between the tubes and the shell, the tube side is double tubes, the flow is long, the heat exchange effect is good, the bearing capacity is strong, the structure is simple, the cost is low, and the tube bundle can be drawn out of the shell, which is convenient for maintenance. Its disadvantages are that the cleaning in the tube is unchanged, the tube in the middle of the tube bundle is difficult to replace, the tube distribution is not tight, the fluid in the shell side is easy to short-circuit, which causes inconvenience in heat exchange and the tube is easy to bend. Therefore, the straight pipe area needs thick pipe, and the use place is limited. The heat exchanger is limited to places with large shell-side temperature difference or high temperature, high pressure and strong corrosiveness.

4. Immersed coil heat exchanger: its advantages are simple structure, easy installation and maintenance, easy corrosion protection and high pressure resistance. The disadvantage is that the equipment is bulky and there are many consumables.

5. Spray coil heat exchanger: Its advantages are better heat exchange efficiency than immersion type, large heat transfer area and convenient maintenance and cleaning. The disadvantage is uneven spraying, which is usually used to cool the fluid in the pipeline. Mostly located in outdoor air circulation.

6. Sleeve heat exchanger: Its advantages are large heat transfer area and high heat transfer efficiency. Disadvantages are troublesome maintenance and cleaning, and the detachable joint is easy to leak.

7. Spiral plate heat exchanger: Its advantages are high heat transfer efficiency, strong operational feasibility and low resistance. The disadvantages are high welding quality, strong working reliability and low resistance. The disadvantages are high requirements for welding quality, difficult maintenance, heavy weight, poor rigidity and difficult installation.

? 8. Heat exchanger with compensation ring: Its advantage is that the compensation ring or expansion joint can eliminate thermal stress. When the shell and tube bundle are different, the compensation ring is easy to deform, stretch or compress to adapt to the different expansion structures of the shell and tube bundle. It is suitable for the case that the temperature difference between the two fluids does not exceed 70℃ and the shell pressure does not exceed 600kpa.

? 9. Heat pipe heat exchanger: Its advantages are high heat transfer efficiency, compact structure, corrosion resistance and strong environmental adaptability.

10. Jacket heat exchanger: The advantages are simple structure and convenient transportation, but the disadvantages are small heat transfer area and low heat transfer coefficient.

1 1. Plate-fin heat exchanger: compact and light structure, high heat transfer coefficient and strong applicability. The disadvantages are complex manufacturing process, easy blockage, acid and alkali resistance and difficult maintenance.

In addition, gas cooling tower, regenerator, bathroom warm water heating and energy storage heat exchanger also belong to heat exchanger.
