On Earth Day, in order to cultivate the life concept of low-carbon life of community environmental protection volunteers and improve their awareness of environmental protection and innovation, the director of Yanchi Community Lane in Haizhou Street launched a "manual activity of turning waste into treasure" in the kindergarten under his jurisdiction.

At the beginning of the activity, the director explained the concept of "low carbon and environmental protection" and the knowledge of garbage classification in daily life to the environmental protection volunteers, and explained the recyclability of waste materials with practical cases. Members of the Lane Council told the children that in their daily lives, as long as the waste is used and kept effective, everyone can contribute to the cause of environmental protection. It can be a plastic bottle, a waste paper box, an old dress, more recycling and more value. Later, the children will hand-make plastic bottles, cartons and newspapers brought from home. Under the guidance of director Ryan, the children will seriously start work, and the original useless empty bottles, old cartons and waste batteries will become creative works bit by bit. Children feel the power of turning waste into treasure and the fun of making it. After the production was completed, the children competed to show their handmade works, and the original unremarkable waste materials magically turned into exquisite and creative toy-shaped rockets, space stations, airplanes and so on. Children have said that there is no "waste" in this world, only "treasure" misplaced. If we reuse these things, turn waste into treasure and become new materials, we can add infinite colors to our lives and do our part for environmental protection.

This activity not only exercised the children's practical ability and cultivated their patience, but also made them understand the importance of waste utilization and enhanced their awareness of environmental protection and economy.
