What is the solid waste law?

Legal analysis: solid waste refers to solid and muddy substances discarded by human beings in production and life activities, which are called solid waste, or solid waste for short. Includes solid particles separated from waste water and waste gas. All solid or semi-solid substances produced in the process of human activities, which are no longer of use value to the owner and are discarded, are generally called solid waste. Solid waste refers to solid and semi-solid waste produced by human beings in production, life and other activities. In layman's terms, it is "garbage". It mainly includes solid particles, garbage, slag, sludge, discarded products, broken appliances, defective products, animal carcasses, spoiled food, human and animal feces, etc. In some countries, high-concentration liquids such as waste acid, waste alkali, waste oil and waste organic solvent are also classified as solid waste.

Legal basis: People's Republic of China (PRC) Law on Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste.

Article 1 This Law is formulated for the purpose of protecting and improving the ecological environment, preventing and controlling environmental pollution by solid waste, safeguarding public health, maintaining ecological safety, promoting the construction of ecological civilization and promoting sustainable economic and social development.

Article 2 This Law is applicable to the prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid waste. This law is not applicable to the prevention and control of marine environmental pollution by solid waste and environmental pollution by radioactive solid waste.

Article 3 The State pursues a green development model to promote clean production and the development of circular economy. The state advocates a simple and moderate, green and low-carbon lifestyle, and guides the public to actively participate in the prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid waste.

Article 4 The prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid waste shall adhere to the principles of reduction, recycling and harmlessness. All units and individuals should take measures to reduce the production of solid waste, promote the comprehensive utilization of solid waste and reduce the harm of solid waste.
