Historical Evolution of Shiting Central Primary School

The school has a long history and was founded in 1915 at the initiative of Mr. Huang Shaochang.

Mr. Huang Shaochang graduated from Fujian University of Political Science and Law and Waseda University, a famous Japanese university, with a doctor of law and a master's degree in advanced normal education. He has been a professor at Fujian University of Political Science and Law and a secretary-general of Fujian Provincial Department of Industry. Concerned about the education in my hometown, I knew that Shiting was densely populated and there was no formal school. With the support of overseas Chinese, I resolutely moved my family back to Shiting and became the principal of the school. The school was named as the seventh district primary school in Putian County. I rented the upper and lower halls of Shiting Flagstaff Hall and the left wing of the upper hall, with all the inner walls and five private houses of Huang Yuyou as the school site, and gave up my own house for running the school. Huang Shaochang was honorary president (October, 1915—January, 1919), Dong Chen was the first president (October, 1915—January, 1916), and Chen Danru was the second president (February, 1916—January, 1919). The school system is four years (for primary schools), and the second class of junior high school is a compound teaching. The fourth grade is the highest grade in the school, and all the students are transferred from private schools, with more than 2 students in the school. The first school board was established in the spring of 1915. There are 3 perennial school board members (who donate to 2 yuan every year), and the honorary school board members are celebrities such as Sa Zhenbing, Huang Peisong, Wang Zhaopei, Jiang Chunlin, Zhang Qin, Guan Chenmo, Lin Han and Wu Tai. Among them, Sa Zhenbing was a celebrity during the Revolution of 1911, and was an admiral and commander-in-chief of Ren Haijun during the Republic of China. Being a director of Shiting Primary School can be said to be a leader with outstanding prestige.

From February p>1925 to January 1934, the school was renamed as Shiting Primary School in the seventh district of Putian County, and the original school site was expanded. Borrow two left and right front wing rooms in the lower hall of Yanqing Hall, expand the right wing room in Tianyun Pavilion, rent the hall, Futang and left and right wing rooms of Huang Shaochang's private house, and set up a branch school in Huangshi Ancestral Hall. From February p>1934 to July 1942, the school was renamed as Shaochang Primary School in Jiangkou Town, the seventh district of Putian County. The school site remains the same, the Huangs Ancestral School is closed, and the school is merged into the general school, but a kindergarten (class 1) is set up in the Tian Tengsong Zhumei Ancestral Hall. The school board elected Huang Liqiu as the first principal (February, 1934—July, 1934), and Huang Xuan as the second principal (August, 1934—July, 1942). after becoming the principal, Huang Xuan worked hard, tearing down the old and updating it, and doing it himself, saving money and gradually expanding the classroom. Therefore, the school has gradually formed a central primary school that has begun to take shape and is quite famous in Jiangkou Town from the original nonstandard school building.

According to Mr. Huang Wenlan and Mr. Huang Chunyuan's recollection, the temple celebrating the 3th anniversary of the school was held in early August 1945, decorated with lanterns and colorful decorations, and the school was decorated with jubilation. A huge banner slogan hung high "Celebrate the 3th anniversary of Shaochang Central Primary School and celebrate the victory of the Anti-Japanese War". The people's government took over Shaochang Primary School, and the school was renamed Shiting Primary School. Under the leadership and care of the party and the government, and with the strong support of Shiting folks and overseas Chinese, the school has since embarked on the road of continuous development and growth.

Before the new school was built in the spring of p>1951, due to the shortage of school buildings in Shaochang Primary School, it could not meet the needs of running a school. Before 1954, the local people had planned to build a new school. After many consultations, it was decided to rebuild the new school building in the original site-Shiting Shaochang Primary School, which is now Shiting Central Primary School in Hanjiang District. When the school was founded, the board of directors was established by Shi Ting Huang, with 9 members and 16 managing directors. Chairman: Huang Wenda (Mao Xiaocong), Vice Chairman Huang Wensong (Kyubi no Youko) has members. Receive donations from overseas Chinese and the Huang family at home and abroad, and set up a monument to commemorate it.

In the spring of p>1956, Fang Yanrong, the principal, taught Chen Bingzong to write a letter to Chairman Mao asking for the name of the school. Because of Chairman Mao's busy state affairs, he was too busy to mention it. Later, the chief of staff of Putian Military Division wrote the name of "Shiting Primary School in Putian County", which has been preserved to this day.

Because the school was a complete primary school with good school conditions and high quality, students came here and flocked to it. Therefore, Shiting Primary School has also changed the single-class system of middle and lower grades into a multi-class school of high and low grades. The students of Shiting Primary School are all over half the territory of Jiangkou Town. After graduating from primary school, I applied for junior high school, and the online rate of further studies reached over 97%.

During the Great Leap Forward in p>1958, Shiting was established as an administrative district, and the school was upgraded to "Shiting Central Primary School in Putian County", which governed 19 primary schools, including the five-star primary school in Jiangkou. Judging from the fact that Shiting set up a school district earlier than Jiangkou, Shiting's culture was more developed than Jiangkou's. Later, vice presidents Wen Xinjiang, Fang Lianrong and Lin Chunxin were sent to lead the school.

In p>1962, Putian County Education Bureau officially approved the change from Putian Shiting Agricultural Middle School to Putian Shiting Overseas Chinese Middle School and appointed Wu Hongsheng as the principal of Shiting Overseas Chinese Middle School. Chen Guozhen is the vice president, Chen Qingrui is the teaching director, Huang Qinghe is the general affairs director, and Li Tianbao is the secretary of the Youth League branch. The primary school remains unchanged. Half of the "Shiting Primary School" is used in the bridge, and the primary school once again begins to borrow nearby houses to run schools.

"Ten-tone Team" is second to none in Jiangkou area. In 64 years, the instrumental ensemble of Shiting teachers won the special prize for participating in the county workers' cultural performance.

In p>1966, the cultural revolution was a catastrophe, and it was very stormy for ten years, which affected the normal teaching order. Schools were closed for a time, students scattered in the society, teaching was neglected, and students failed to impart cultural knowledge, resulting in ten years of desolation and lamentation.

in p>1968, "Shiting Primary School in Putian County" was changed to "May 7th School in Putian County". Right and wrong were reversed, and the school was desolate. The Gang of Four ruined the country and people and trampled on culture, which can be seen.

By the end of the Cultural Revolution, the original school name was restored.

In p>1978, Hu Jinfeng was reinstated as the principal of Shiting Primary School. At the end of the second year of the national college entrance examination, under the auspices of Jiangkou Town Party Committee, a cram school was held in the old cinema in Macheng, Jiangkou. Teachers such as Lin Jinbiao (Fan Rugen) and Chen Qingrui from Shiting Primary School volunteered to teach the majority of young people for several years. In order to train a large number of college and technical secondary school talents in Jiangkou area. Speaking of the glorious history of free amateur service for the society in Shiting Primary School for decades, as early as after the completion of the new school, when Hu Jinfeng served as the first principal, Shiting Primary School actively assisted amateur education and carried out the "literacy" activities of Shiting Film to improve the quality of the whole people.
