How to deal with the recycling of waste cables and wires

It is a good thing to recycle waste cables for copper reuse, but if the stripping method of waste cables is not chosen properly, it may turn a good thing into a bad thing.

At present, there are five methods to strip waste cables in the market:

1, manual stripping method. Using manual cable stripping is not only inefficient, but also may affect the purity of copper, and the labor cost is high and the operating environment is poor, which is harmful to the physical and mental health of employees.

2. Fire separation method: burning the plastic sheath of the cable with fire, and then recovering the remaining copper will oxidize the surface of the copper wire in the cable, reducing the reuse rate, and the smoke generated by combustion is extremely serious to the environment. At present, all countries prohibit the use of fire separation to deal with cables.

3. Chemical methods. The copper wire in the cable is obtained by etching the cable with chemicals. Because a large amount of waste liquid can't be treated in the treatment process, it will cause secondary pollution to the environment if dumped at will, so this method is rarely used when treating cables.

4. Low temperature freezing method. Liquid nitrogen is used to freeze waste cables. After the insulation layer of cables becomes brittle, copper wires will be separated due to vibration and impact. Although this method is environmentally friendly, it has complex technology, high cost and low practicability.

5. Mechanical stripping method. When using mechanical separation cable, it is a scientific method to crush the whole cable and separate copper chips through the suction of high-voltage static electricity.

At present, it is forbidden to burn plastics, rubber and other harmful substances in the open air in China, which will produce a lot of toxic gases to pollute the nature. Therefore, a reasonable way must be taken when choosing how to strip cables.

In 202 1 year, copper prices rose all the way. Today, the price per ton of copper is about 68,824 yuan, which is several times higher than last year's copper price. Therefore, the income from the recycling of waste cables is also considerable, and the state's strong support for the recycling industry of renewable resources is a green and sustainable industry.
