Hongshacun travel

Hongsha Village was the hometown of Hong, the deputy commissioner of the Fifth District of the Kuomintang (now Shantou). As early as 1923- 1927, when Hong Martyrs returned home to take refuge, they left behind the seeds of revolution. Until 1949, under the direct leadership of Qiu (pseudonym Ake), secretary of the Party's underground county party committee, and Jiangdong Armed Forces (A Tong, namely Comrade Cai Tianfu), a vigorous struggle against the enemy was launched.

1April, 949, Comrade Qiu, secretary of the Working Committee of Chengrao and Chaoan County, visited our village for many times to guide the revolutionary work. At that time, Comrade Hong Lichi, who was studying in Chaoan No.1 Middle School, was the organizing committee member of the new youth league of the school, and a middle school student named Liu Xiaofeng (who was stationed at the handsome home of Hongsha at that time) led the work of Hongsha League. Members include Hong, Yang Zhixian, Hong Lunqin, Lin Chuanzhi, Hong Yingjun and Huang. The party branch meeting was presided over by Comrade Qiu and held in Yang's hut (Yang Zhixian's home). After the establishment of the Youth League branch, it assisted the underground armed forces to carry out a series of work, handed over information, publicized the troops going south, posted slogans, borrowed food, and eliminated bullies (assisted the armed forces to arrest and shoot the village chief Hong Xuju). Borrow food from Hong Xinxiang, Hong Kunsheng and Yang to support my underground work. The Red Sand League branch carried out revolutionary activities under the cover of holding study classes until the liberation of Chaoan County. After liberation, members of the Youth League branch included Hong Lichi, Hong, Huang, Huang and Hong Lunqin. At the instigation of Comrade Qiu, they participated in the political task force of the Fifth District People's Government. A lot of work has been done to establish political power for the party, reduce rents and interest rates, set up peasant associations and take root in series.

December 10, 1992; Chaozhou Municipal People's Government agreed to designate Hongsha as an old revolutionary base area.
