Which city does Wuchuan belong to?
Wuchuan is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, managed by Zhanjiang City, and located on the Jianjiang Plain in the southwest of Guangdong Province. It is connected with Maonan District of Maoming City in the east, Huazhou in the north, Potou District of Zhanjiang City in the west and Nanhai in the south. Wuchuan, the most open county in Zhanjiang, has a unique style in language, customs and concepts, which is quite different from other counties in Zhanjiang.
Wuchuan is a famous hometown of architecture. Hundreds of billionaires are mostly contractors, which is the county-level city with the largest number of rich people in China. In the early days of reform and opening-up, "Wuchuan Model" kept pace with the "Wenzhou Model" of the same period, and it was famous for its "Wenzhou in the north and Wuchuan in the south" for a time.
Wuchuan is a healthy and livable city with the characteristics of river and sea culture along the South China Sea coast of China. It lives by the water, with three parallel rivers, developed water system, abundant sunshine, rich resources and pleasant climate.
What are the three wonders of Wuchuan?
Wuchuan City, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province is known as the "Three Musts of Wuchuan" with its floating colors, clay sculptures and flower bridges. Wuchuan Piaose 1992 and 1997 went to Beijing twice to attend CCTV Spring Festival Gala. In 2003, Wu Chuan's sculpted works with gone with the wind went to Beijing to participate in the first exhibition of cultural relics and imitations, namely folk handicrafts, in China, and won the gold medal.
In 2000, the Ministry of Culture named Meilong in Wuchuan as "the hometown of Chinese folk art (floating color and clay sculpture)", and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture named Huang Po Town as "the hometown of folk art in Guangdong Province (floating color)".
In May 2006, Guangdong Provincial People's Government listed "Wuchuan Piaose" as the first batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage. In 2007, Wu Chuanpiao was listed in the "Second Batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage List", and Wu Chuan clay sculpture was listed in the "Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage List" in June 2007.
