Showing the strength of the air force to the Japanese army can have a certain deterrent effect on the Japanese army and strive for the initiative in surrender negotiations. Third, at that time, the Japanese army still had some strength in China, and some Japanese troops had the psychology of refusing to surrender. The surrender place was chosen in Zhijiang, so the guards could be guaranteed. Fourth, the defeat of the Japanese army in the battle of Xiangxi allowed the Japanese army to surrender during this period, so that they could experience the taste of "the river at sunset."

The former site of China People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression Victory Surrender has become a national patriotic education base and a state-level cultural relics protection unit. Zhijiang Airport, once the second largest airport in the Allied Far East Theater and the air command tower of the Sino-American Allied Forces, has left a historical relic left by the "Zhijiang Defence War" and has become an important historical witness to the victory of the world anti-fascist war.
