What do I need to bring to get a marriage certificate?

Marriage registration is a system that the state supervises and manages the establishment of marriage relationship. Registration system can guarantee the freedom of marriage, the implementation of the principle of monogamy, the health of marriage parties and their children, avoid illegal marriage and prevent the occurrence of marriage and family disputes, and it is also an important part of the publicity of marriage legal system. If China citizens apply for marriage in China, both parties must apply for marriage registration in person at the marriage registration office where one of them is registered. (2) Foreign citizens must hold: (1) their own passports or certificates of identity and nationality instead of passports (except stateless persons); ② Alien Residence Permit issued by the public security organ; (3) my name, gender, date of birth, nationality, marital status (unmarried, divorced, widowed), occupation, nature of work and the certificate issued by the people's government at the county level where I live or the organs, schools, institutions and enterprises at or above the county level where I work. (3) Foreigners must hold: ① my passport or other identification and nationality certificates; (2) Alien's residence permit issued by the public security organ, or identity certificate issued by the foreign affairs department, or temporary entry and residence certificate; (3) A certificate of marital status issued by a Chinese notary office certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (or an organ authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the embassy or consulate of China in that country, or a certificate of marital status issued by the embassy or consulate of China in that country.

Legal objectivity:

Article 1049 of the Civil Code stipulates that married men and women should apply for marriage registration in person at the marriage registration office. Those who meet the requirements of this law shall be registered and issued a marriage certificate. Marriage is established when marriage registration is completed. Those who have not registered for marriage shall re-register.
