The core idea of stem education

To cultivate children's innovative consciousness, divergent thinking, imagination and ability to find problems, STEM education is to use science, mathematical knowledge and advanced technology to solve real-world problems with engineering thinking. STEM education is not a simple superposition of knowledge of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The core of STEM education is: finding problems-designing solutions-using scientific, technical and mathematical knowledge to implement solutions-conveying solutions to everyone. This integration is naturally interdisciplinary, situational, practical, collaborative and empirical.

STEM education mode is interdisciplinary learning, which is a course and learning orientation based on interdisciplinary consciousness and using two or more discipline concepts and interdisciplinary concepts to solve practical problems. Interdisciplinary emphasizes the "mixing" of disciplines, but each discipline still maintains its own characteristics and curriculum focus. That is to say, although teaching will involve knowledge of different disciplines, teachers and students can clearly distinguish knowledge fields and focus on a specific discipline. STEM education should not focus on a specific subject or pay too much attention to the boundary of the subject, but should pay attention to specific problems, have a new and broader perspective on problems and have a deeper understanding of the relationship between complex problems.
