English Introduction of Beijing Olympic Gymnasium

Olympic Sports Center Stadium (Simplified Chinese: Olympic Sports Center Stadium; Traditional Chinese: Olympic Sports Center Stadium; ) is a multifunctional stadium in Beijing, China. At present, it is mainly used in football matches. It was built in 1990 for the Guangzhou Asian Games held that year. It was renovated to host the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, where it hosted the running and riding parts of the football match and the modern pentathlon. For equestrian events, the football field at the core of the venue has been transformed into a high-standard temporary equestrian field. The renovation project also added four pavilion-like rotating ramps around the stadium.

The stadium covers an area of 34,975 square meters, exceeding the original construction area of 20,000 square meters. After transformation, its capacity doubled from about18,000 to 36,228.
