A Review of Huang Longsheng's Academic Circle

A "versatile" revolutionary who grew up as an apprentice.

Huang Longsheng was the first overseas Chinese in Vietnam to participate in the anti-Qing democratic revolution with Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the "father of the country". He was the first member of the Vietnamese Zhong Xing Association and the Union Association, and also the founder and chairman of these two branches. He personally developed hundreds of Hui members in Zhong Xing. He actively took the lead in propagating the revolutionary truth, mobilized overseas Chinese to donate money and buy guns to support the revolutionaries in many armed uprisings, and took in the revolutionaries who lived in Hanoi after the uprising failed. At the beginning of the Republic of China, Huang Longsheng was ordered by Sun Yat-sen to sew a new type of clothing which was later called Zhongshan suit. Sun Yat-sen praised "this kind of clothing is beautiful, practical, convenient and economical". Under his advocacy, revolutionaries at that time were proud of wearing Zhongshan suit. Huang Longsheng is also an expert in financial management and the first deputy governor of the Central Bank founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen. ..

During the Revolution of 1911, a revolutionary like Huang Longsheng grew from a tailor apprentice at the bottom of society to a "versatile" democratic revolutionary, and was regarded as a close friend by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, which shows that Huang Longsheng's contribution to the Revolution of 1911 is outstanding and deserves the pride of Wuyi people.
